This opportunity is ideal for students graduating in 2027 who are looking for a six-month part-time (>20 hours) and are passionate about the future of energy.
At Wood Mackenzie we combine deep expertise across conventional and renewable energyincluding solar wind battery storage hydrogen and power systemswith industry-leading market intelligence advanced analytics and global power modelling. Our research supports utilities technology companies investors developers governments and large energy consumers in making informed strategic decisions during the energy transition.
As part of our global Power & Renewables Practice youll work alongside experienced analysts on real-world research that influences investment decisions and energy policy across international markets.
As a Student Researcher you will:
- Conduct market research and analysis on global electricity markets renewable energy storage technologies grid infrastructure and energy policy.
- Support the development of market outlooks forecasts and quantitative models used by leading energy companies and investors.
- Analyze power market fundamentals including supply-demand dynamics generation economics electricity pricing renewable integration and emerging technologies.
- Work with large datasets using analytical tools to identify trends generate insights and support evidence-based research.
- Contribute to high-quality reports presentations and client deliverables that help shape strategic decisions across the energy sector.
- Collaborate with analysts consultants and subject matter experts across multiple regions gaining exposure to global energy markets and best practices.
- Learn how advanced modelling AI-enabled research workflows and data analytics are transforming energy market intelligence.

Requirements
Studying towards a Bachelors/ Masters degree or professional qualification with a quantitative statistical energy and/or economics focus.
Wood Mackenzie follows a hybrid work structure however during the duration of this role the successful candidate would highly benefit from being in the office frequently with the team and their line manager.
Applicants must have the legal Right to Work in the country this role is based in. We are currently unable to sponsor employment visas.
