Overview
This role is for a Structural within the global buildings sector supporting the Building Structures team in the delivery of structural designs. The engineer will assist with the development coordination and quality assurance of structural designs across concept preliminary and detailed design stages ensuring compliance with building codes standards and project-specific requirements. The role involves close coordination with architectural civil geotechnical and MEP disciplines participation in design review and assurance processes and contribution to the delivery of safe durable constructible and technically sound building structures across a variety of building types and project environments.
Your role
- Perform tasks assigned independently with minimum guidance from the seniors in the discipline.
- Develop detailed designs from the schematic designs under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Able to develop details/sketches and provide details to CAD technicians.
- Shall ensure effective communication and coordination on assigned tasks within the discipline.
- Managing ones own time and time of others reporting to them.
- Responsible for compliance with Atkinsrealis QA/QC procedures and implementation of procedures.
- Keep abreast of latest trends and technologies.
- Competent to check the work of graduates technicians and administrative staff.
- Conversant with Financial Systems.
- Developing relationships with Atkinsrealis colleagues outside of the business area.
- Successful in identifying and following through on leads/suggestions associated with additional work prospects on the projects they are involved with.
- Able to apply Safe by Design principles and CDM legislations to projects
- Contributes to and researches the development of existing and new areas of technology/capabilities to inform business strategy.
- An understanding of management processes related to technical integration and associated analytical / investigative approaches.
- Responsible for compliance with AtkinsRéalis QA/QC procedures and implementation of procedures.
About you
- Masters with 8-10 years of work experience
- Have sound understanding of finite element analysis and shall be proficient in at least one of the softwares such as STAAD Pro ETABS SAFE etc.
Desirable requirements
- Working Knowledge of software such as AUTOCAD & Revit structures.
- Experience of working on American & Canadian standards is an added advantage.
- Working towards chartership from institutes such as PEng IStructE ICE.
- French Language (Read & Write).
