Job Summary
Opportunity Overview:
We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our Integrations this role you will be designing developing and scaling highly available healthcare integration systems supporting prior authorization workflows across providers payers and delegated entities. Youll direct a fast-paced autonomousagile team of software engineers in the design development and operational support of a growing enterprise integration platform. This is an opportunity to drive technical excellence at the intersection of healthcare interoperability and modern distributed systems.
What youll do:
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership across architecture system design platform scalability reliability and operational excellence.
- Platform Engineering: Design and build scalable resilient and high-performing systems that support critical business workflows and enterprise integrations.
- Integration Solutions: Lead the development and maintenance of secure integrations with internal and external platforms partners and third-party systems.
- Cloud & Automation: Drive cloud infrastructure deployment automation and software delivery practices that enable reliable and efficient releases.
- Distributed Systems: Design and support event-driven and distributed architectures that enable scalable and fault-tolerant processing.
- Operational Excellence: Establish monitoring observability and incident response practices to ensure system reliability performance and availability.
- Quality Engineering: Champion automated testing quality assurance and engineering best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Production Support: Lead the resolution of complex production issues and drive continuous improvement in platform stability and operational efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product operations data security and business stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with organizational goals.
- Agile Delivery: Lead technical planning design reviews backlog refinement and delivery execution within an agile development environment.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure solutions adhere to security privacy regulatory and compliance requirements while following industry best practices.
- Mentorship & Team Development: Mentor engineers foster technical excellence and contribute to hiring coaching and career development initiatives.
What youll need:
Must-haves
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Computer Engineering or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 11 years of experience in software development designing building and supporting scalable enterprise applications and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with Java Groovy and Spring Boot for building enterprise-grade integration services and APIs.
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and integrations with external systems third-party platforms and partner applications.
- Expertise with authentication/authorization frameworks secure API design and access control mechanisms.
- Experience with data modeling and storage design across relational and non-relational database technologies.
- Experience with event-driven architecture patterns and asynchronous messaging using Apache Kafka AWS SQS and SNS.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure on AWS Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and containerization with Docker.
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline design deployment automation and DevOps practices.
- Experience with observability monitoring and alerting tools for production system visibility and performance analysis.
- Working knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards including HL7 FHIR X12 EDI and HL7 v2.
- Familiarity with clinical ontologies such as SNOMED CT LOINC and ICD-10.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity influence stakeholders and drive technical decisions across teams.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience in healthcare technology health plan operations or prior authorization systems.
- Deep experience applying FHIR resources X12 transaction sets and HL7 messaging in production integration workflows.
- Advanced knowledge of clinical terminologies (SNOMED CT LOINC ICD-10) for data mapping and clinical decision support.
- Cloud architecture certifications (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect).
- Demonstrated success leading distributed engineering teams.
