The Sr. Lead Transmission & Switchyard will provide leadership and technical expertise in the design engineering and execution of transmission and switchyard systems for large-scale electrical projects. This role ensures the integration of high-voltage transmission lines substations and associated infrastructure into electrical systems while meeting operational safety regulatory and sustainability standards. The position will oversee the planning execution and optimization of electrical transmission systems ensuring high performance reliability and cost-efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. This role is crucial for the timely and on-budget delivery of strategic projects.

Conceptualization and Basic Engineering Review and Validation
Validate basic engineering documents including single-line diagrams (SLD) layouts and equipment specifications.
Participate in feasibility studies and load flow analysis to define project scope.
Collaborate with site teams to establish project specifications design basis and parameters.
Ensure adherence to relevant standards (IEC IS IEEE) during the conceptualization phase.
Propose innovative solutions for improving system reliability and operational efficiency.
Budget Tendering & Ordering support
Review detailed Bill of Quantities (BoQ) and cost estimates based on engineering designs.
Review of tender documents including technical specifications and evaluation criteria.
Review vendor proposals to ensure alignment with project requirements and budget.
Participate in vendor negotiations to optimize costs and secure favorable terms.
Support the preparation and finalization of purchase orders and contracts.
Detail Engineering Review and Validations
Review and validate detailed engineering drawings including control schematics grounding layouts and relay coordination plans.
Verify design calculations for electrical components such as transformers breakers and conductors.
Ensure integration of detailed designs with other disciplines (civil mechanical instrumentation).
Address design gaps and deviations through technical discussions with consultants and vendors.
Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential engineering issues.
Capability Building
Develop standards for transmission systems and switchyard equipment design.
Train teams on innovative power transmission technologies and safety measures.
Assist site teams with technical evaluations and resource allocation.
Capture and disseminate lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.
Conduct technical sessions on grid systems transmission efficiencies and fault diagnostics.
Quality Control and Safety Compliance
Ensure and enforce quality assurance plans (QAP) for equipment and installations.
Assist site teams for inspections and testing of equipment including factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT).
Assist site teams in compliance with safety standards during installation commissioning and operation phases.
Identify and mitigate safety risks associated with high-voltage systems.
Conduct regular audits to verify adherence to quality and safety protocols.
