Job Summary

About the position

We are seeking an experienced Engineer - IMDS to join our Product Design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with International Material Data System (IMDS) regulations and guidelines for our products. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams including Design Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure that our products meet the required IMDS standards.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ensure that all products are compliant with IMDS regulations and guidelines including data collection analysis and reporting.

2. Manage and maintain material data for all products including creation and updating of IMDS files and ensure data accuracy and consistency.

3. Collaborate with Design and Engineering teams to ensure that products are designed with IMDS compliance in mind and provide guidance on material selection and substitution.

4. Identify and assess potential risks associated with non-compliance and develop mitigation strategies to minimize risks.

5. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and provide reporting to management on IMDS performance including metrics and recommendations for improvement.

6. Provide training and awareness to cross-functional teams on IMDS regulations and guidelines and ensure that all stakeholders understand their roles and responsibilities.

7. Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to ensure ongoing IMDS compliance and process efficiency.

Requirements

Requirements:

1. Education: Bachelors degree in engineering Materials Science or related field.

2. Experience: Minimum 4-6 years of experience in IMDS compliance product design or related field preferably in a manufacturing environment.

3. Knowledge: Strong knowledge of IMDS regulations and guidelines material data management and design for compliance.

4. Skills: Excellent analytical problem-solving and communication skills with ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

5. Certifications: IMDS certification or equivalent preferred.

Requirements:

1. Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in chemical engineering Mechanical Engineering or related field.

2. Experience

  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in process engineering preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry.

3. Skills

  • Strong knowledge of process design principles thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
  • Excellent problem-solving analytical and communication skills.
