Software Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Backend Python Developer with 35 years of experience in backend development. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Python Django/FastAPI REST APIs cloud-native AWS services and database technologies. The candidate will be responsible for designing developing and maintaining scalable backend applications while ensuring high performance reliability and code quality. This role requires strong problem-solving skills experience with modern backend architectures and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast paced product development environment.

Role & Responsibilities

Backend Development

• Design develop and maintain scalable backend applications using Python
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs using Django and/or FastAPI
• Develop clean maintainable and efficient code following software engineering best practices
• Design and implement backend services with a focus on performance scalability and security
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development standards

Database & Data Management

• Design and optimize MongoDB collections queries aggregations and complex pipelines
• Work with SQL for relational data modeling and query optimization
• Analyze database performance and implement improvements where required
• Ensure efficient data handling and storage solutions

Cloud and infrastructure

• Develop and deploy cloud-native applications using AWS services
• Build and maintain containerized applications using Docker
• Deploy and manage applications on AWS ECS/ECR using AWS Copilot
• Develop serverless solutions using AWS Lambda Step Functions API Gateway S3 IAM CloudWatch etc.
• Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform
• Develop application infrastructure and Monitor application performance and troubleshoot cloud-based issues

Monitoring & Optimization

• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure application reliability
• Analyze logs identify performance bottlenecks and implement improvements
• Contribute to application monitoring and operational excellence

Collaboration & Delivery

• Collaborate with frontend developers QA engineers product owners and stakeholders
• Participate in Agile development processes and team discussions
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment workflows
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions

Qualifications :

• 35 years of experience in backend development
• Strong proficiency in Python as the primary programming language
• Hands-on experience with Django and/or FastAPI
• Strong understanding of REST API design and development
• Experience with Elasticsearch Databricks
• Experience with Git and modern CI/CD practices
• Strong understanding of software design principles clean code practices and version control
• Strong debugging analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience working with MongoDB including aggregation pipelines and performance optimization
• Experience with SQL and SQL query optimization
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including: (Docker Terraform AWS Copilot Lambda Step Functions API Gateway ECS/ECR S3 CloudWatch IAM etc.)

Preferred Skillsets

• Experience with python and python frameworks
• Experience with asynchronous programming and background task processing using Celery asyncio or similar technologies
• Basic understanding of React and frontend development for effective collaboration
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Knowledge of monitoring logging and application performance tuning
• Experience building highly scalable and distributed backend systems
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and cloud deployment workflows
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies Exposure to observability and monitoring tools (Datadog Elastic etc. )
