Software Engineer III Platform Engineer – Java, DevOps, Cloud, AI Solutions

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Consumer and Community Banking you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Implement and manage scalable reliable and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS
• Deploy manage and scale containerized applications using Kubernetes (EKS) and ECS.
• Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and system
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform to automate provisioning and configuration management.
• Implement logging and tracing using ELK Stack Splunk Dynatrace and AWS CloudWatch.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth deployment and operation of applications.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline the software development lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues in a timely manner.
• Continuously evaluate and implement modern technologies and tools to improve operational efficiency.

Required qualifications capabilities and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3 years applied experience
• Experience in Site Reliability Engineering DevOps or a related field.
• Experience in Java language Springboot framework or scripting languages such as Bash Shell Python
• Strong expertise in AWS services including EC2 S3 EKS ECS Fargate VPC IAM and networking and Atlas 2.0
• Proven track record of building and managing continual automation / deployment / delivery environments
• Proficiency in using Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Ensure disaster recovery strategies are in place using multi-region deployments backups and failover mechanisms.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and ECS for container orchestration
• Proven track recorddesigning and implementing comprehensive observability solutions (metrics logging tracing alerting) and automating complex CI/CD workflows using Jenkins Spinnaker or similar platforms.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills. Familiarity with security best practices in cloud environments.

Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills

• Experience with any rule engines such as IBM ODM
• Worked with IBM ODM deployment and Containerization
• Familiarity with AI and Copilot concepts
