We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate director Software Engineering

In this role you will:

• Lead the identification of SDLC bottlenecks inefficiencies and friction points across teams and drive practical improvement initiatives to address them.
• Partner with Engineering Platform and Risk and Control stakeholders to improve delivery flow change quality stability resiliency and operational effectiveness.
• Define and drive the adoption of DORA SPACE and broader engineering metrics to create visibility support prioritisation and improve performance outcomes.
• Establish and maintain automated reporting to provide clear views of current performance root-cause analysis trends and recommended actions.
• Lead engineering and operational automation initiatives across areas such as testing deployment patching recovery and health checks.
• Create and maintain a central engineering knowledge space and operating cadence to support governance transparency and continuous improvement.
• Influence stakeholders across a matrix environment to align on priorities remove blockers and sustain delivery momentum.

To be successful you will

• 12 years of engineering experience across the full software delivery lifecycle with strong engineering leadership capability with hands on experience in coding.
• Strong Technical Credibility-Been a hands-on engineer architect or engineering understanding of modern software development practices.
• Experience with cloud-native platforms CI/CD Infrastructure as Code and automation
• Ability to engage with engineers and architects on technical design and implementation discussions
• Engineering Excellence Expertise-Strong understanding of SDLC best implementing and improving-CI/CD pipelinesTest automation management practicesSecure software development practicesPlatform engineering have developer experience initiatives
• Deep knowledge of reliability engineering and operational excellence practices
• Strong communication and stakeholder management to influence teams across organizational boundaries
• Experience building communities of practice and engineering to drive adoption through collaboration rather than mandate
