Software Dev Engineer II, AWS Infrastructure Supply Chain

Job Summary
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer II to join our Infrastructure Supply Chain team building large-scale distributed systems that power one of the worlds most complex physical supply chains. Our systems manage hundreds of thousands of rack demands annually across AMER EMEA APAC and GOVT regions from demand forecasting and material planning to manufacturing execution logistics and data center deployment.
These are greenfield projects offering a rare opportunity to build systems from the ground up using modern technologies including reactive microservices serverless computing and distributed NoSQL data stores.
What Youll Do
Design and build highly scalable fault-tolerant distributed systems that support the end-to-end infrastructure supply chain spanning demand planning fulfillment manufacturing logistics and DC readiness
Solve complex architecture and business problems delivering extensible solutions that operate at AWS scale
Write high-quality modular functional and testable code with a focus on operational excellence
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including supply chain planners hardware engineers and operations managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Formally mentor junior engineers on system design coding best practices and troubleshooting
Contribute to the full software development lifecycle from design and code reviews through testing deployment and operations
Drive innovation in areas such as demand forecasting supply optimization and end-to-end observability through the Infrastructure Control Tower
Basic Qualifications
3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
2 years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
Experience programming with at least one modern software programming language (Java Python TypeScript or equivalent)
Strong understanding of fundamental algorithms data structures and system design principles
Preferred Qualifications
3 years of full software development lifecycle experience including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations
Experience building distributed systems microservices architectures or event-driven platforms at scale
Familiarity with AWS services (Lambda DynamoDB SQS/SNS Step Functions ECS/EKS)
Experience with supply chain logistics or manufacturing domain systems
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent

About the team
As an SDE II on the Infrastructure Supply Chain team your typical day will include a mix of deep technical work collaboration and continuous learning:
Morning Stand-up & Sprint Planning Start the day with your agile team to review progress discuss blockers and align on sprint priorities across supply chain workstreams
Design & Architecture Sessions Participate in or lead design reviews for new features such as a new fulfillment pipeline stage tracker or a demand forecasting data ingestion service
Heads-Down Coding Spend focused blocks writing refactoring and testing code for distributed microservices serverless functions and API integrations that power supply chain workflows
Code Reviews Review pull requests from teammates providing constructive feedback on design patterns edge cases performance and operational readiness
Debugging & Troubleshooting Investigate production issues using CloudWatch dashboards X-Ray traces and Control Tower observability tools to identify root causes and deploy fixes
Cross-Team Collaboration Join working sessions with supply chain planners hardware engineers or logistics teams to clarify requirements demo features or align on data contracts
Mentoring Pair-program with junior engineers walk through design approaches on a whiteboard or review their design documents to help them grow technically
Operational Reviews Monitor service health metrics review alarms update runbooks and participate in weekly operational excellence reviews to maintain a high availability bar
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing Write or update design documents API specs and wiki pages; present tech talks or brown-bag sessions to share learnings with the broader team
Innovation & Experimentation Dedicate time to explore new approaches prototyping an ML-based anomaly detector for dwell time spikes evaluating a new AWS service for event-driven workflows or contributing to team hackathon projects
