Senior Software Engineer, FinAuto Receivables Tech

Amazons Accounts Receivable Technology team part of FinAuto (Finance Automation) is transforming financial operations through next-generation automation. We process trillions in annual transactions across every Amazon business worldwide including AWS Stores and Digital. The Finance Automation Receivable Tech team is looking for a smart motivated and results-oriented Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE 3) to architect build and operate software systems. Were looking for engineers who want to build GenAI/LLM-powered solutions that solve real customer problems at Amazon scale. Think AI-driven financial workflows intelligent reconciliation and automation that replaces manual operations with machine intelligence.

The problems youll solve dont come with a predefined technology strategy. Youll design and deliver solutions using AWS-native services and AI/agentic patterns that solve real customer problems at Amazon scale. Youll iterate fast ship incrementally and raise the engineering bar for your team through exemplary code pragmatic design and mentorship. You own the architecture and the code.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead projects requiring work from multiple engineers owning end-to-end design integration of parallel work and delivery across the full software lifecycle (design implementation testing deployment operations)
- Own team-level architecture for enterprise systems providing system-wide design guidance and ensuring solutions are cohesive extensible and secure
- Build and operate production applications on AWS-native services (Lambda Step Functions DynamoDB Bedrock S3 CDK API Gateway etc.)
- Design and deliver AI-powered and agentic workflows that ship to production automating business processes reducing toil and accelerating delivery
- Define agentic architecture patterns and establish best practices for building testing and operating AI systems in production setting the engineering standard for how the team builds with AI
- Drive adoption of engineering best practices on your team; set a culture of robust software development through exemplary code design reviews and operational rigor
- Actively mentor and coach other engineers helping them grow their technical skills and independence
- Communicate technical designs and decisions effectively in writing

- 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

- 5 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
