Key job responsibilities
Design and deliver complex features for Silk browser and WebView across multimodal and TV devices driving end-to-end ownership from architecture to launch.
Lead Chromium upleveling and platform migrations ensuring compatibility and performance across Fire OS and Vega OS platforms.
Own build system improvements and release infrastructure to improve developer productivity and release velocity for the team.
Drive operational excellence including security patch releases crash rate reduction and production health monitoring across device families.
Mentor and grow junior engineers through technical guidance code reviews design reviews and knowledge sharing to raise the overall bar of the team.

A day in the life
As a Senior SDE in the Silk Browser team you will dive deep into Chromium internals to solve complex rendering and performance challenges across Fire TV and multimodal devices collaborate with product design and platform teams to understand customer needs and unblock cross-functional dependencies and architect scalable solutions that work across multiple device families and OS versions. Youll spend time reviewing code from teammates driving technical decisions that balance long-term code health with near-term delivery and shipping features that reach millions of users. Youll have the autonomy to identify problems propose solutions and see your work deployed to real customers in a fast-paced environment that values both rapid iteration and thoughtful engineering.

About the team
Silk is Amazons Chromium-based web browser built for Fire TV and multimodal devices optimized for the unique constraints of embedded environments to deliver fast reliable web experiences on television screens and Echo Show devices. Our team owns feature development performance optimization and seamless integration with Amazons device ecosystem working closely with product managers and partner teams to build solutions that delight millions of customers. - 8 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 8 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team

- 8 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with AI/ML technologies
- Experience with Chromium Browser technology
