Role Overview
As a Senior Project Engineer Defence you will take ownership of the execution of live defence projects from contract handover through design coordination manufacturing FAT dispatch installation and commissioning. You will act as the primary technical and coordination point of contact for assigned projects working directly with defence clients internal engineering teams vendors and site personnel to ensure delivery on time within scope and to the technical and quality standards demanded by the defence sector.
This role is suited to an experienced engineer who can independently drive project execution resolve technical and coordination issues on the ground and mentor junior project engineers.
Job Responsibility
Own end-to-end execution of assigned defence projects from handover through design manufacturing FAT dispatch installation and commissioning
Plan and manage project schedules resource allocation and critical milestones; proactively flag and resolve risks and delays
Serve as the primary coordination point between design production procurement quality and the client for assigned projects
Lead client-facing project reviews technical discussions and progress updates for defence accounts
Ensure strict compliance with defence project documentation technical specifications and contractual requirements
Represent CRA at client and vendor sites for FAT installation and commissioning activities including extended site deployments as required
Review and approve project documentation drawings and technical submissions prior to client release
Guide and mentor junior project engineers on execution practices and technical coordination
Identify and drive process improvements in project execution and cross-functional coordination
Ensure adherence to safety quality and security protocols applicable to defence projects.
Requirements
in Mechanical Electrical or Chemical Engineering
46 years of experience in project execution or engineering roles with substantial exposure to defence or other regulated mission-critical sectors
Demonstrated experience independently leading project execution from handover to commissioning
Strong technical fundamentals with the ability to review engineering drawings and specifications
Proven track record of managing client relationships and cross-functional coordination on complex projects
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with experience in client-facing roles
Willingness to travel extensively for site work including defence installations as required
Comfortable working within the documentation and compliance requirements of defence contracts.
