Senior Operations Supervisor (1260190)
Job Summary
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily logistics warehouse fleet and dispatch activities to ensure shipments are received processed and delivered safely accurately efficiently and on time.
This role leads operations coordinators dispatchers and drivers; coordinates with vendors and the OCASA network; maintains inventory accuracy and warehouse organization; and ensures smooth end-to-end operational execution.
The Operations Supervisor also oversees fleet and driver performance including dispatch planning route efficiency scheduling arrival and departure times meal-period compliance vehicle maintenance records and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will provide clear direction delegate responsibilities effectively and step in when necessary to maintain operational continuity accountability and alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
Operations Warehouse and Logistics
- Oversee daily logistics warehouse shipping receiving inventory fleet and dispatch operations.
- Ensure shipments are completed accurately safely and on time in accordance with client specifications safety regulations TSA requirements and internal Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintain accurate real-time inventory records and promptly investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure the warehouse is organized secure and operating efficiently.
- Delegate operational responsibilities effectively and provide hands-on support when needed to maintain workflow and service continuity.
- Identify operational risks process gaps and compliance concerns and take appropriate corrective action.
Dispatch Fleet and Driver Management
- Plan coordinate and optimize pickup delivery and transportation routes.
- Proactively address delays service disruptions missed pickups and other operational challenges.
- Supervise dispatchers and drivers to ensure effective scheduling communication performance tracking and compliance with delivery priorities.
- Monitor and document driver start times arrival times meal periods departure times and overall timekeeping compliance.
- Manage company-owned and contracted vehicles maintaining accurate maintenance inspection repair registration and service records.
- Ensure vehicles remain safe compliant and available while minimizing operational downtime.
- Monitor driver performance route efficiency safety practices and adherence to company policies.
Team Leadership
- Lead train coach and evaluate drivers operations coordinators and dispatchers.
- Establish clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable for results.
- Provide ongoing feedback mentoring and corrective action when necessary.
- Promote a high-performance culture focused on safety accountability teamwork service quality and continuous improvement.
- Provide clear instructions and step in to support the team during periods of high volume staffing shortages or operational disruption.
Collaboration and Reporting
- Coordinate with internal departments carriers vendors clients and the OCASA network to resolve supply chain and operational challenges.
- Partner with the Branch Manager to improve service levels operational KPIs workflows and overall branch performance.
- Track and report operational metrics service trends performance issues risks and improvement opportunities to leadership.
- Ensure operational activities remain aligned with client expectations and organizational objectives.
- Perform additional duties as required to support daily operations and business continuity.
- Minimum of five years of experience in logistics transportation dispatch warehouse operations or a related field.
- Previous supervisory or team-lead experience strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership delegation coaching and team-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure and time-sensitive environment.
- Strong understanding of shipment deadlines and service-level expectations.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems throughout the shipment and delivery process.
- Strong attention to detail particularly regarding documentation inventory schedules and compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational prioritization and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Bilingual English and Spanish skills are a plus.
- Availability to work flexible schedules including nights weekends and outside standard business hours when operationally required.
- Occasional work outside standard business hours may be required to address urgent operational or client needs.
