Senior Modeler Tekla
Job Summary
The Senior Modeler requires the ability to read and interpret contract drawings create templates place members 3D models of the structures connections and sections. Requires knowledge of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) American Welding Society (AWS) The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and National Institute of Steel Design (NISD) standards. Experience in structural steel and architectural/miscellaneous detailing is a must.
Roles and Responsibilities
Works closely with Detailers/Checkers and Project Managers to prepare/submit 3D models for the structural and architectural projects for commercial and industrial buildings
Serve as a support analyst and operate detailing platforms such as SDS2 AutoCAD etc.
Must comply with the requirements of the design drawings and all industry standards and protocols such as those established by AISC AWS and comply with current OSHA and NISD guidelines
Prepares Bill of Material Title Block Template and Reports as per Clients requirement
Strong knowledge of member placement
The Senior Modeler will suggest connections wherever drawings have insufficient information subject to the approval of the architect and structural engineer
Ensure accurate and timely delivery of drawings according to companys and/or customers standards
Generates the GA drawings Shop drawings Erection drawings with related reports
Accurately complete and check all necessary system input for finalization of model and Bill of Materials
Prepares the RFIs and updates in the model as per RFIs response from the customer
Regular upkeep of the Engineering filing system and support Documentation Control
Flexible with performing other related duties as assigned
RequirementsQualifications and Technical Competencies
Bachelors/Diploma degree in civil or mechanical engineering is required; work experience in SDS2 may substitute as an equivalent to a Bachelors/Diploma degree
5-10 years of experience in steel detailing with SDS2 is a must
Working knowledge of AISC codes OSHA AWS and other standards are a must
Strong experience in reading and interpreting structural/architectural design drawings
Strong knowledge of steel manufacturing steel erection and shop fabrication processes
Ability to read and interpret blueprints plans and specifications
Basic mathematics including geometry and trigonometry
Knowledge of welding specifications
Microsoft Office (Word Outlook and Excel) and Google Workspace
