Senior Mechanical Engineer

Requisition Summary:

PACCAR India is looking for a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Pune specializing in the design development and Integration of chassis frame and its components on vehicle.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at PACCAR your expertise will be leveraged in Layout development component packaging installation drawing and coordination with cross functional team to ensure engines are installed safely efficiently and compliant with technical requirements

Job Function / Responsibilities:

• Chassis frame and components layout development including mounting systems brackets and interfaces.
• Preparation of 3D CAD design and create detailed engineering drawings including GD&T BOM creation for vehicle frame.
• Layout and packaging of components such as AdBlue fuel tank battery air tanks.
• Perform calculations related to clearances envelopes and mass properties.
• Work on large assemblies including effective use of simplified representations.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams locally and globally to ensure design alignment and manufacturability.

The primary function for this position includes:

• Execution on CAD sheetmetal advance modeling and assembly drawing.
• Understand design requirements clearance check drawing standards GD&T and Bill of Material (BOM).
• Experience in frame & its components.
• Collaborate with team members by offering assistance.

Qualification:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Automotive or Production Engineering

Required Skills:

• Minimum 5 years of handson experience in Mechanical engineering.
• Strong proficiency in NX and Teamcenter.
• Strong understanding of chassis systems and interfaces.
• Strong understanding of sheetmetal design and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to manage and design large assemblies efficiently.
• Excellent understanding of GD&T tolerance stackup and engineering drawing practices.
• Experience in tool clearance reliability and ergonomic assessments.
• Ability to collaborate with both local and global engineering teams

Desired Skills:

• Familiar with truck systems and components
• Knowledge of materials manufacturing processes and assembly techniques.
• Familiar with validation test procedures and issue resolution
• ECR/ECN release system will be an added advantage
• Standards (Euro Norms)
