Position Description:
We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer with 46 years of strong hands-on experience in mainframe application development and production support. The ideal candidate should have solid expertise in COBOL IMS DB/DC DB2 JCL SORT utilities and mainframe utilities along with the ability to independently manage end-to-end development activities.
The candidate should be comfortable working in an Agile environment collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders analyzing complex problems and delivering high-quality solutions with minimal supervision.

Design develop modify and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL JCL DB2 and IMS DB/DC.
Develop and optimize embedded SQL programs for DB2 applications.
Create and maintain JCL procedures and job streams for application processing.
Perform data manipulation and file processing using DFSORT SYNCSORT and ICETOOL.
Utilize mainframe utilities such as IDCAMS FILE AID TSO/ISPF and other relevant tools.
Perform end-to-end development activities including requirement analysis design coding unit testing debugging and implementation.
Analyze and resolve application issues including abend handling and production incidents.
Participate in production support activities and ensure timely resolution of critical issues.
Analyze application performance and implement appropriate performance tuning solutions.
Work independently on assigned tasks with minimal guidance and ensure timely delivery.
Participate actively in Agile/Scrum/Kanban ceremonies including sprint planning daily stand-ups backlog refinement reviews and retrospectives.
Collaborate with business analysts developers testers technical teams and other stakeholders.
Create and maintain technical documentation and effectively communicate technical solutions.
Use version control and change management tools such as Endevor ChangeMan or ISPW.
Perform debugging and testing using tools such as Xpediter and InterTest.
Ensure adherence to development standards coding guidelines quality processes and change management procedures.

Must-Have Skills
46 years of hands-on Mainframe development experience.
Strong experience in COBOL programming.
Strong hands-on experience with JCL.
Good experience with DB2 including embedded SQL.
Hands-on experience with IMS DB/DC.
Strong knowledge of SORT utilities including DFSORT SYNCSORT and/or ICETOOL.
Experience with mainframe utilities such as:
IDCAMS
FILE AID
TSO/ISPF
Strong understanding of mainframe concepts including:
VSAM
GDG
Datasets
Abend handling
Performance tuning
Ability to work independently on end-to-end development tasks with minimal supervision.
Strong analytical problem-solving and debugging skills.
Good communication skills both verbal and written.
Experience working in an Agile environment such as Scrum or Kanban.
Good-to-Have Skills
Experience with Endevor ChangeMan or ISPW.
Experience with Xpediter and/or InterTest.
Experience in mainframe production support.
Experience working with Jira Rally and/or Confluence.
Knowledge of mainframe application performance optimization.
Experience handling complex production incidents and root-cause analysis.
Ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong technical documentation and presentation skills.
Experience working in large enterprise mainframe environments.
