Role:Senior Linux Virtualization Support Engineer (L3/L4)

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Linux Virtualization Support Engineer with strong expertise in Linux administration KVM virtualization and VMware environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in L3/L4 product support advanced troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to independently manage critical production incidents from triage through resolution and root cause analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Own and manage Sev-1 to Sev-4 incidents end-to-end including triage RCA and resolution.
Perform advanced troubleshooting across Linux OS KVM/hypervisor networking storage and application layers.
Analyze logs traces core dumps and telemetry data to identify root causes.
Work on complex product issues and provide workarounds and long-term solutions.
Collaborate with engineering teams by providing high-quality escalation details.
Participate in customer escalation calls and war-room discussions as required.
Ensure timely communication and resolution of critical production issues.
Create and maintain technical documentation and RCA reports.
Mandatory Skills
8 years of experience with L3/L4 Linux product support.
Strong expertise in Linux command-line administration including:
OS internals
Processes and memory management
System performance analysis
Networking fundamentals
Solid understanding of KVM and virtualization concepts.
Hands-on experience with VMware administration.
Strong Linux networking knowledge including:
TCP/IP
VLANs
Bonding
Routing concepts
Proven experience in advanced troubleshooting and RCA in production environments.
Ability to work independently and take complete ownership of issues.
Experience Profile
Experience in L3/L4 product support escalation management or sustaining engineering teams.
Experience supporting Linux-based software platforms or products not limited to infrastructure administration.
Exposure to handling critical production incidents and customer escalations.
Nice to Have
Experience with Java-based platforms middleware and databases.
Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes environments.
Scripting and automation experience using Shell or Python.
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.
Not a Fit If
Profile is primarily focused on VMware GUI-based administration without strong Linux expertise.
Looking for training shadowing or transition opportunities.
Limited exposure to production troubleshooting and RCA activities.
Preferred Skills
