Senior Implementation Consultant (AI & Software Engineering)

Summary

Senior Implementation Consultants within Guidewire Professional Services are responsible for customer implementations by configuring customizing and integrating core Guidewire products (InsuranceNow). In this role you will lead hands-on implementation effortsconfiguring base systems building integrations and enabling AI-driven features across customer deployments. You combine a strong software engineering background in Java with applied AI knowledge helping to adopt artificial intelligence directly into implementation processes to enhance business workflows productivity and project outcomes.

Job Description

What Youll Do

• Core Implementation & Configuration: Lead and execute the configuration integration and custom development of core Guidewire product platforms for customer implementations ensuring robust high-quality and scalable deployments.
• Enable & Adopt AI Features: Integrate and configure AI capabilities agentic workflows and automated tools into base Guidewire products during customer rollouts embedding AI directly into day-to-day implementation processes.
• Hands-on Java Development: Build custom logic integrations context management and orchestration components using Java JavaScript and web technologies.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with consultants Business Analysts Project Managers and customer stakeholders to translate business goals into functional technical solutions.
• Troubleshooting & Performance: Troubleshoot complex system issues analyze logs (e.g. Log4J) and optimize application performance across cloud and relational database environments.
• Quality & Mentorship: Conduct peer code reviews mentor junior engineers and demonstrate product and AI functionality to diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What Youll Bring

• Core Engineering Skills: Strong background in Java JavaScript web development object-oriented design and standard enterprise development toolsets (Eclipse IntelliJ GitHub).

• Core Guidewire / Product Knowledge: Minimum 4 years of overall experience in packaged enterprise software implementations (Guidewire InsuranceNow or core P&C software platforms).

• Professional Services Experience: Minimum 2 years of direct customer-facing technical experience in a professional services or software consulting environment.

• Applied AI Capability: Strong foundational knowledge of AI concepts (LLMs prompt workflows embeddings or retrieval frameworks) and a proven ability to configure and adopt AI capabilities within software delivery processes.

• Infrastructure & Databases: Experience working with Apache Tomcat relational databases (SQL Server MySQL AWS Aurora) XML/Velocity templates and cloud services (AWS S3 Lambda PrivateLink).
• Communication & Teamwork: Excellent interpersonal organizational and technical communication skills with a track record of succeeding in distributed cross-functional teams.
  

Preferred

• Cloud Infrastructure: Advanced knowledge of AWS infrastructure and serverless services.
• Insurance Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance domain workflows and business concepts.
• Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
