Senior Engineer CAE (FEA, Structural Durability)

PACCAR India is seeking an experienced Finite Element Analyst responsible for analysing commercial vehicle systems and subsystems using OptiStruct and Abaqus.

We are currently looking to hire a skilled FEA Engineer to join our Pune India team.

Key Responsibilities:

• The primary responsibility of this role is to perform FEA-based analysis of PACCARs global products.
• Collaborate with global and local teams to understand design intent and develop as well as validate structural FEA models to support new engineering designs.
• Gain a comprehensive understanding of products and assess requirements for vehicle systems subsystems and components in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
• Apply digital prototyping techniques for static and vibration-based structural analyses including stress deformation thermal fatigue modal harmonic and random vibration studies.
• Knowledge of crash simulation using LS-DYNA is considered an added advantage.
• Provide training and guidance to junior team members.

• Perform FEA simulations on vehicle systems and subsystems using HyperWorks and Abaqus

Education Requirements:

• Bachelors / masters in mechanical Automotive Engineering

Knowledge & Skills REQUIRED:

• 47 years of relevant experience within a multinational engineering organization.
• Strong foundation in engineering principles particularly Strength of Materials and vibrations with practical application in mechanical design.
• Experience in analyzing metal castings forgings sheet metal and welded components.
• Solid understanding of Finite Element Method (FEM) principles along with proven experience using commercial FEA software tools
• Coordinate with stakeholders to define structural FEA analysis requirements for PACCAR products.
• Interpret summarize and effectively communicate results from static and vibration structural FEA analysesincluding stress deformation fatigue modal harmonic and random vibrationto both local and global teams along with providing technical and design recommendations.
• Possess knowledge of crash simulation using LS-DYNA in accordance with regulatory standards such as FMVSS and Euro NCAP (preferred).
• Support test planning activities as needed to validate simulation models and ensure correlation between analysis results and physical test outcomes.
• Develop an in-depth understanding of product functionality and architecture collaborating closely with product development and testing teams

Knowledge & Skills DESIRED:

• Experience in Altair HyperWorks suite Abaqus FEA solver LS Dyna
