Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

We are looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer who can seamlessly manage operations and infrastructure provisioning within a complex growing multi-cloud environment. Your primary responsibility will be building scaling and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure using modern GitOps practices. You will serve as a core operator for our platform fulfilling infrastructure requests while actively writing automation to eliminate manual toil and enhance developer velocity. Furthermore you will help lay the operational groundwork for emerging technologies including hosting and integrating AI inferencing workloads. We need a hands-on builder with strong programming fundamentals and a deep understanding of cloud operations.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director Developer Platform Engineering.

Responsibility

• Provision modify and manage cloud infrastructure across our multi-cloud environment (heavily focused on AWS) using Terraform

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows using GitHub Actions (or equivalent tooling)

• Manage and operate core platform technologies including EKS (Kubernetes) Argo CD

• Write automation scripts and CLI tooling using Python or Go to eliminate manual operational toil and streamline developer access

• Support the deployment and configuration of infrastructure required for AI inferencing and internal AI tooling

• Troubleshoot complex platform issues ranging from Kubernetes networking to cloud IAM permissions and pipeline bottlenecks

• Own the design development and operation of a Backstage-based Developer Portal that enables citizen builders to build deploy and manage applications with minimal platform expertise

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

Basic

• A Computer Science degree or equivalent practical experience

• 8 years of hands-on experience in Cloud Engineering or Platform Engineering roles

• Deep expertise in AWS core services networking and IAM architectures

• Advanced proficiency in Terraform (module creation state management) and GitOps principles

• Strong hands-on experience configuring and maintaining GitHub Actions (or similar CI/CD platforms)

• Production experience operating Kubernetes (EKS) and deployment tools like Argo CD

• Experience with secrets management (e.g. HashiCorp Vault) modern observability stacks (Datadog Prometheus Grafana) and Artifact management (JFrog)

Preferred

• Experience operating within a multi-cloud ecosystem (AWS Azure GCP etc.)

• Solid programming capability in Python or Go for infrastructure automation and tooling

• Strong expertise in building modern web applications and deploying scaling and managing them in cloud environments
