Hedge fund services- Senior Analyst

Founded in Chicago in 1889 Northern Trust is one of the worlds leading financial institutions. We specialise in providing asset servicing solutions and asset management to both institutional and personal clients. The delivery of products and services to this client base is supported through a network of offices around the globe.

Role

The job requires working for a Global Hedge Fund Administrator specializing in administering assets of complex hedge funds. This individual will have a strong Technical and Accounting background experience working within the Financial Services industry. This position involves working with Investor Accounting team.

Major DuTIES

  • Preparation of monthly fund and business entity closing summaries for Fund Administrator
  • Preparation of investor allocation/PnL distribution to the investors
  • Calculation of Incentive Fee and Management Fee
  • Working on Hedge funds and private equities
  • Investor statements preparation and distribution
  • Knowledge of financial products like Equity Derivative instruments IPO etc.
  • Prepare financial highlights and shareholders statements on quarterly/annual basis.
  • Consistently look to streamline and automate the reporting/analytical process with the use of technology
  • Process documentation and training to new hires.
  • Escalate issues that fall outside normal resolution timeframe

ACCountabilities

  • Employees are required to comply with the regulatory regime in which Northern Trust operates as appropriate to the above role
  • Employees are expected to exercise due care and diligence ensuring the areas the incumbent is responsible for are organised and controlled
  • Employees are required to observe proper standards of market business and personal conduct demonstrating integrity in the execution of duties
  • Reports to TL/ Section Manager

Skills

  • Self-starter with the ability to function independently in a fast-paced dynamic and demanding environment
  • Good understanding of the basic accounting principles and procedures familiarity with the Financial markets and instruments
  • Strong problem solving skills detailed and results oriented.
  • Ability to evaluate priority and multi-task with minimal supervision
  • Excellent spoken and written English and the ability to write Business correspondence
  • Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel and Word)
  • Ability to address internal and external audiences in a professional manner
  • Ability to work effectively with project teams and clients
  • Demonstrate high ethical standards
  • Time management skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree with emphasis in Accounting Master degree a plus
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of Accounting experience (Associate)
  • Experience with Hedge Funds Investment Management and/or Financial Services strongly preferred
  • Experience of Investor accounting will be an added advantage
  • Excellent English grammar written and oral communication skills
  • Adaptive flexible style with the ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment
