Job Summary

  • Design develop and maintain embedded firmware for camera modules in resource-constrained environments.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure optimal firmware-hardware co-design and integration.
  • Implement and optimize image signal processing (ISP) pipelines auto-focus auto-exposure and auto-white balance algorithms in firmware.
  • Debug and resolve complex firmware issues using advanced tools such as logic analyzers oscilloscopes and JTAG debuggers.
  • Develop and maintain device drivers for camera sensors lenses and related peripherals.
  • Ensure firmware compliance with industry standards and safety regulations (e.g. ISO 26262 for automotive IEC 61508).
  • Optimize firmware for performance power consumption and real-time responsiveness.
  • Participate in full development lifecycle activities including requirements analysis design implementation testing and deployment.
  • Document firmware architecture design decisions and technical specifications for knowledge transfer and audit purposes.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in embedded systems imaging and low-level software development.


Requirements
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Science Electronics & Communication or a related field.
  • 25 years of hands-on experience in embedded firmware development for camera systems or similar imaging devices.
  • Proficiency in C/C and experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS Zephyr or ThreadX.
  • Strong understanding of camera sensor interfaces (MIPI CSI-2 DVP LVDS) and protocols.
  • Experience with ISP pipeline development and optimization including focus algorithms noise reduction and color correction.
  • Familiarity with debugging tools (JTAG GDB logic analyzers) and version control systems (Git).
  • Knowledge of hardware-software co-design principles and low-level peripheral programming (I2C SPI UART).
  • Understanding of power management techniques and optimization for battery-powered devices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced agile development environment with cross-functional teams.
