Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE), Alexa Smart Properties

Amazons Alexa Smart Properties (ASP) team is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) to support quality validation across our enterprise Alexa ecosystem. ASP delivers Alexa-powered experiences in hospitality senior living healthcare and other commercial environments and our QAEs play a vital role in ensuring these experiences are reliable consistent and enterprise-ready.
As a QAE on the ASP team you will execute functional regression and exploratory testing across ASP cloud services and device experiences contribute to certification and compliance validation efforts and develop test cases and documentation that support the broader quality engineering organization. You will work closely with senior QAEs SDETs and engineering teams to grow your quality engineering skills while making meaningful contributions to ASPs quality goals.

Key job responsibilities
Execute functional regression integration and exploratory testing for ASP cloud services device experiences and enterprise partner-facing features
Develop and maintain clear thorough and reusable test cases and test documentation under the guidance of senior QAEs and QA leadership
Identify document and triage defects with clear reproduction steps and collaborate with engineering teams to drive timely resolution
Partner with SDET and automation teams to provide well-structured manual test cases that serve as blueprints for automation development
Collaborate with SDET and automation teams to translate manual test cases into automated regression suites driving measurable improvements in automation coverage
Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of certification readiness checklists and partner-facing quality documentation
Validate accessibility features and support accessibility testing efforts in partnership with senior team members and accessibility SMEs
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning stand-ups and retrospectives contributing quality perspectives to team discussions
Support offshore or distributed QA team members by executing and refining test runbooks and onboarding documentation
Proactively communicate testing status blockers and quality risks to QA leads and engineering stakeholders

- 3 years of quality assurance engineering experience
- Experience with automation or working with scripting languages like Python Java Perl PHP Ruby Bash Shell or equivalent
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills attention to detail and effective communication abilities or experience in software development
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering a related field or equivalent experience
- Experience building and designing test cases including knowledge of test methodologies
- Experience with functional regression and exploratory testing methodologies
- Hands-on experience with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g. JIRA TestRail or equivalent)

- Experience in API & Mobile testing
- Experience designing and planning test conditions test scripts and test data sets to ensure appropriate and adequate coverage and control
- Experience with AI/ML technologies
- Experience with Android iOS or other mobile application development or testing
- Experience with AWS Services including EC2 Lambda S3 DynamoDB SQS
