Team Overview
The Investment and Portfolio Solutions (IPS) team is a key part of BlackRocks Global Product Solutions group. We work closely with global clients to help them achieve their desired portfolio outcomes using a range of BlackRock products including alpha-seeking factor and index options. Our team is made up of experts in portfolio construction and financial markets and we use this knowledge to deliver investment researchMulti-Assetportfolios and portfolio consulting capabilities.
Your role and impact
Seekingan enthusiastic and quantitively minded software developer the team is looking foran Associateto becomea founding member of theIPS Technology Team in Mumbai. With a focus on business impact the ideal candidate will build highly efficient sophisticated applications. These must be crafted in a modular fashion for deployment in multiple environments. Althoughpredominantly aPython role demonstrable experience across multiple technologies is a plus focusing on the best tool for the job!
Situated in a fast-paced environment this role will give significant exposure to BlackRocks client businesses as well as a fantastic platform to learn about portfolio analytics and construction techniques.Previousexperience in ahighlycollaborative role is beneficial as it will allow the successful candidate to contribute to the teams culture and play an active part in the business.Thehowis as important as the what!
Your responsibilities
Understand the business to devise both short term and long-term software solutions to improve efficiency and drive future business growth.
Plan and scope technology projects with a forward-looking approach to software architecture.
Provide meaningful contribution to strategy planning and be able to independently drive and deliver execution phases of strategic projects within the team.
Team accomplishments are celebrated by allmembersand the success of the team is prioritised.
Stay up to date with the latest technology improvements within BlackRockfinanceand the wider technology industry to ensure quality of workremainshigh and the technology being built iscutting edge.
Ideally you should have
Strong knowledge of Python/SQL isa must TypeScript/UI knowledge is a plus.
Experience in any of the following technologies would be beneficial:Snowflake Flask APIStreamlit Angular/React Azure Redis Docker
Understanding of agile project management frameworks
Flexibility and willingness to accepting new challenges; ability to work effectively and efficiently on multiple projects at a time in a dynamic demanding and constantly evolving environment whilemaintainingthe highest standards and attention to detail
Outstanding communication skills and a great teammate
Interest in working with financial data platforms like Aladdin MPI Bloomberg Morningstar & FactSet
