Job Summary:

The Project Engineer Civil & Interior (Healthcare) is responsible for overseeing the execution of civil and interior works for hospitals clinics and medical centers. The role demands specialized knowledge of healthcare construction requirements including infection control medical-grade finishes and coordination with medical services. The engineer will ensure timely cost-effective and quality completion of projects while maintaining safety and healthcare compliance standards.


Key Responsibilities:
Planning & Coordination:
  • Collaborate with architects MEP consultants and hospital planners to develop construction schedules.
  • Understand and incorporate NABH JCI and other healthcare facility guidelines in execution.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders including biomedical facility management and IT teams for smooth integration.
Execution & Supervision:
  • Oversee civil and interior fit-out execution in accordance with healthcare facility standards.
  • Supervise construction of specialized healthcare spaces like ICUs OTs diagnostic labs and cleanrooms.
  • Ensure dust and noise control infection prevention protocols and safety measures are in place.
Quality Control & Compliance:
  • Conduct quality checks on medical-grade finishes anti-bacterial coatings and vinyl flooring.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC teams and ensure all work complies with healthcare construction norms.
  • Maintain documentation and logs for audits and compliance inspections.
Contractor & Vendor Management:
  • Manage subcontractors involved in civil interior and finishing works.
  • Liaise with vendors for procurement of compliant materials and equipment (e.g. lead-lined doors modular panels etc.).
  • Track delivery and installation schedules for key items like nurse call systems and medical gas outlets (in coordination with MEP).
Cost & Progress Management:
  • Track project progress against budget and timeline.
  • Certify contractor bills maintain site records and escalate delays or cost deviations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in project execution with at least 2 3 years in healthcare or hospital projects.
  • Familiarity with hospital infrastructure requirements and healthcare.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD MS Project and MS Office; knowledge of Revit is a plus.
