Job Summary

Job Description Summary
As PMO Leader for Hydro Asia and Steam you will lead project management process governance across Hydro Asia and Steam ensuring project management processes standard work and operating rhythms are applied appropriately across the portfolio. You will own the regional operating rhythm including project reviews and the MOR as well as project escalations.

You will work with the Hydro Lean organisation to promote and apply Lean practices across the project organisation using Lean tools and structured problem-solving to improve execution discipline predictability and project outcomes.

Roles and Responsibilities

Key Customer & Business Outcomes

  • Enable effective delivery of contractual commitments across Hydro Asia and Steam through strong project management processes visibility operating discipline and timely escalation supporting the highest levels of Safety Quality Delivery and Cost performance.

  • Ensure portfolio-level visibility of project performance supporting delivery of annual budget blueprint and operating plan commitments.

  • Ensure return on experience is captured and reinvested into Hydro and Steam execution practices through Lean standards standard work kaizen and lessons learned so future projects are delivered with stronger risk control reduced waste improved predictability and higher customer confidence.

Essential Accountabilities

  • Provide the project management structure analysis and operating discipline required to enable Project Executive Leaders to focus on critical business customer and execution priorities.

  • Directly lead the Steam India Project Planning team.

  • Ensure project review daily management visual management and project control deliverables are timely concise data-driven and impactful for project teams customers and the business.

  • Drive a culture of Lean continuous improvement through structured problem-solving root-cause analysis kaizen standard work lessons learned and disciplined follow-up on key operational KPIs.

  • Ensure compliance with business directives project governance requirements and applicable quality or management system standards.

  • Provide support and guidance as required to project directors project managers planners cost controllers and functional leaders promoting common standards Lean behaviors good practices and lessons learned across Hydro and Steam.

  • Partner with Regional Leadership and Value Stream functions to evolve Daily Management Systems (DMS) supporting delivery and improvement of operational KPIs.

  • Coordinate project management capacity and resource planning to ensure the right capabilities are available to support execution priorities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Engineering Economics or Business Administration

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in the power hydro steam or infrastructure industry with significant experience in project management project controls PMO leadership or the governance and management of large and complex project portfolios.

  • Strong understanding of Lean operating systems daily management structured problem-solving and continuous improvement in a project environment.

  • Proven ability to influence and support senior project and functional leaders bringing structure challenge and operating discipline while maintaining clear accountability for business and project execution.

  • Strong commercial knowledge and ability to assess business risks opportunities claims contract exposure and recovery options in support of customer and internal negotiations.

  • Strong organizational prioritization Lean problem-solving facilitation and leadership skills with a proven ability to manage teams and influence across multiple functions regions and business lines.

  • Broad technical commercial and project execution knowledge covering multiple disciplines with an ability to translate complex project issues into clear actions and management decisions.

  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with customers partners suppliers contractors and internal stakeholders.

Desired Characteristics

  • MBA or postgraduate degree in a relevant field.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
