Job Summary
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging sociological curriculum for Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) level students.
- Prepare lesson plans lecture notes and assessment materials aligned with university standards.
- Facilitate classroom discussions seminars and workshops that encourage critical thinking and research skills.
- Mentor and guide students on research projects dissertations and fieldwork assignments.
- Assess student performance through assignments quizzes midterms and final examinations providing timely feedback.
- Participate in departmental meetings curriculum development committees and faculty development programs.
- Maintain academic records and contribute to departmental reporting as required.
- Stay updated with advancements in sociological theory and pedagogy incorporating innovative teaching methods.
Essential Qualifications
- Masters degree or higher in Sociology (M.A./. or Ph.D.).
- Clearance of the National Eligibility Test (NET) or equivalent qualification for postgraduate teaching.
- Strong knowledge of core sociological concepts research methodologies and contemporary issues.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (and Hindi if applicable).
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver academic content effectively.
Desired Experience
- At least 24 years of teaching experience at the postgraduate level in a recognized university or college.
- Experience in supervising undergraduate or postgraduate research projects.
- Record of scholarly publications conferences or workshops in sociology.
- Familiarity with digital teaching tools and online learning platforms is a plus.
