Position Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Payment Systems Lead to spearhead the strategic direction operational excellence and technological advancement of systems in India. This role entails full end-to-end ownership of Indias principal payment rails ensuring comprehensive regulatory compliance with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and designing future-ready neo-banking platforms that deliver seamless experiences for millions of customers and businesses.
This is a pivotal senior leadership opportunity ideally suited for professionals who excel at the intersection of fintech innovation regulatory expertise and large-scale technology delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership
Define and take ownership of the product and technology roadmap for all major payment offerings including UPI IMPS RTGS NEFT Digital Wallets Card Networks and Payment Gateways.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure unwavering adherence to RBI guidelines NPCI mandates PCI-DSS standards KYC/AML requirements and data privacy regulations including the DPDP Act.
Technology & Infrastructure
Oversee the architecture and development of neo-banking technology stacks API-first banking platforms and cloud-native infrastructure delivering high availability scalability and robust performance at significant scale.
Stakeholder Management
Engage proactively with the Board senior leadership regulators NPCI partner banks and ecosystem stakeholders to align initiatives and drive business growth.
Risk & Security
Lead comprehensive fraud prevention risk mitigation cybersecurity and platform security programmes across the enterprise.
Team Leadership
Build mentor and lead large multi-functional technology and operations teams cultivating a high-performance culture of innovation and excellence.
CTO Payments/Neo-Banking Focus
Drive critical technology architecture decisions champion API-first banking and enhance overall platform security and resilience.

Requirements & Qualifications
Experience
10 years of overall experience in banking technology software engineering or payments operations.
Minimum 7 10 years of direct leadership experience within fintech or payment systems.
Domain Expertise
Extensive expert-level knowledge of Indian payment rails including UPI IMPS RTGS NEFT and Card Networks.
Technical Skills
Strong proficiency in microservices architecture API management and governance and modern cloud-based systems (AWS Azure GCP).
Demonstrated experience in building and scaling high-availability secure payment platforms.
