Operator Soldering

Position: Soldering Operator

We are looking for an Experienced Soldering Operator with 45 years of hands-on experience in manual soldering PCB assembly rework and repair. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of through-hole and SMD soldering techniques and be able to produce high-quality electronic assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings work instructions and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform manual soldering of electronic components on PCBs including through-hole and SMD components.
   
2. Carry out PCB rework desoldering component replacement and repair of defective electronic assemblies.
   
3. Assemble electronic products according to engineering drawings work instructions BOMs and quality requirements.
   
4. Inspect solder joints and assembled PCBs for defects such as insufficient solder solder bridges cold joints lifted pads and component misalignment.
   
5. Identify soldering and assembly defects and perform appropriate rework and corrective actions.
   
6. Follow ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) safety and handling procedures during all production activities.
   
7. Operate soldering stations soldering irons hot-air/rework stations and other related equipment safely and effectively.
   
8. Perform visual inspection and quality checks to ensure assemblies meet specified workmanship standards.
   
9. Maintain proper 5S cleanliness and organization of the workstation and production area.
   
10. Maintain good communication with production quality and engineering teams to resolve assembly and rework issues.
    
11. Complete production and inspection records accurately as required.
    
12. Work independently as well as effectively within a team to meet production targets and quality requirements.
    

Requirements

• 45 years of hands-on experience in manual soldering PCB assembly and PCB rework/desoldering.
  
• Strong experience in through-hole (THT) and SMD component soldering.
  
• Practical experience in electronic assembly PCB rework component replacement and repair.
  
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings circuit/assembly diagrams BOMs and work instructions.
  
• Good knowledge of soldering tools soldering stations rework stations and related electronic assembly equipment.
  
• Ability to identify common soldering defects and PCB assembly defects and perform effective rework.
  
• Experience in inspection rework and quality control of electronic assemblies.
  
• Good knowledge of ESD handling and workplace safety procedures.
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  
• Experience in aerospace and defense PCB assembly.
  
• IPC J-STD-001 / IPC-A-610 certification or relevant soldering certification is an added advantage.
  
• Experience with IPC Class 2/Class 3 workmanship requirements is preferred.
