NPD Engineer (New Product Development)
Location: Cochin (Plant)
Education : in Mechanical Engineering
Experience: 2-3 years of experience in connector product design and development
CTC: 6 – 7 LPA

Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled NPD Engineer with hands-on experience in connector product design and development. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in plastic part design terminal design and insert molding along with exposure to automotive standards and cross-functional product development.

Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Engineering
* Design and develop automotive electrical connectors terminals and assemblies from concept to production
* Ensure compliance with USCAR LV214 IEC and other relevant standards
* Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and interpret simulation results
* Select appropriate materials (plastics & metals) based on application requirements
Cross-Functional Coordination
* Collaborate with Tooling Manufacturing Quality Testing and Purchasing teams
* Work closely with tool design teams for feasibility and DFM (Design for Manufacturability)
* Support product costing with inputs from cross-functional teams
Validation & Quality
* Conduct product testing and qualification (dimensional & functional)
* Support DFMEA DVP&R and design validation documentation
* Address engineering changes product improvements and customer feedback
Project & Product Ownership
* Own drawings (Dwg) and BOM management
* Act as technical point of contact for cross-functional teams
* Drive cost reduction change management and product sustenance activities
* Handle product audits customer complaints and continuous improvement initiatives
Customer & Supplier Interaction
* Collaborate with global customers and suppliers for technical discussions and project reviews
