Mortgage Compliance, Associate, Framework Core Functions

Were seeking someone to join our team as an Associate in the Legal and Compliance division as Mortgage Compliance Associate with a principal responsibility to assist the team in Mortgage Lending monitoring activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and to help assure management associated policies procedures and controls are effective.


In the Legal & Compliance division we assist the Firm in achieving its business objectives by facilitating and overseeing the Firms management of legal regulatory and franchise risk. This is an Associate position within the Oversight Monitoring and Testing in Bank Compliance HMDA Review Team this team is charged with oversight and coordination of the Compliance program for the U.S. Banks (Morgan Stanley Bank N.A. and Morgan Stanley Private Bank National Association).

What youll do in the role:

• Performing monthly Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) data scrubs which include OCC and CFPB HMDA Plus expanded fields

• Completing 100% scrubs monthly and logging/tracking data exception issues through the HMDA software

• Resolution of issues identified during the monthly HMDA scrubs with our Home Loans Business and TL Business

• Performing Compliance impact analysis

• Documentation data gathering and review

What youll bring to the role:

• Bachelors/Masters degree in Finance Economics or similar

• 2 years of experience working in a professional environment

• Knowledge of Residential Mortgage Lending Tailored Lending (TL) products HMDA Regulation C & related banking regulations and mortgage documents likeDisclosures Appraisal Flood Certificate Credit report etc.

• Additional regulations knowledge of Regulation B P U V X Z Flood Insurance Fair Housing Act Fair Lending UDAAP Homeowners Protection Act S.A.F.E. Act are beneficial as it will assist in the understanding of the flow of the residential mortgage loan file

• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills - ability to effectively correspond with various groups and senior professionals over email and the telephone

• Advanced Excel PowerPoint knowledge and Data analysis skills; experience working with large data sets

• Experience in stakeholder management with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across regions and Business Units

• Strong analytical problem-solving and execution skills with the ability to identify issues determine solutions and meet established deadlines

• Excellent attention to detail organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

• Team player who can successfully manage multiple projects and priorities

• Ability to identify and recommend process efficiencies

Coverage
Monday to Friday from 1:30 PM IST to 10:30 PM IST. Coverage is dependent on business needs so flexibility on required finish time or full days coverage may be required during some Indian holidays.
