Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical MIS & Finance Analyst to support the finance function of a manufacturing organization. The role will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial and operational MIS maintaining accurate financial data supporting budgeting and costing activities and providing actionable insights to management for business decision-making.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of accounting and finance excellent proficiency in Advanced Excel and Tally and the ability to analyze large volumes of financial and operational data.

Key Responsibilities
1. MIS Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare daily weekly and monthly MIS reports covering financial and operational performance.
  • Prepare management dashboards and presentations highlighting key business metrics.
  • Analyze revenue expenses profitability working capital and other financial KPIs.
  • Provide variance analysis against budgets forecasts and previous periods.
  • Identify key trends deviations and areas requiring management attention.
  • Present financial insights and analysis to senior management.
2. Financial Data Management
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of financial data in Tally and Excel.
  • Ensure proper recording classification and reconciliation of financial transactions.
  • Prepare and maintain financial databases and reporting schedules.
  • Reconcile data between Tally Excel and other internal reporting systems.
  • Identify discrepancies and coordinate with relevant teams for timely resolution.
  • 3. Accounting & Reconciliations
  • Assist in day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities.
  • Perform bank ledger customer and vendor reconciliations.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Assist in preparation of schedules and financial statements.
  • Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of finance records.
  • Support statutory and internal audit requirements.
  • 4. Costing & Manufacturing MIS
  • Assist in preparation and analysis of product and manufacturing costs.
  • Analyze raw material labour overhead and production costs.
  • Track cost per unit/product and identify cost variances.
  • Analyze standard cost versus actual cost.
  • Monitor material consumption wastage and production efficiency.
  • Support management in identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Prepare plant/product/process-wise profitability analysis where required.
  • 5. Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Track actual performance against approved budgets.
  • Conduct budget-versus-actual variance analysis.
  • Support preparation of financial projections and business forecasts.
  • Identify significant cost and revenue deviations and provide explanations.
  • 6. Working Capital & Business Analysis
  • Monitor receivables payables and inventory levels.
  • Prepare working-capital MIS and ageing reports.
  • Analyze inventory movement and slow-moving/obsolete inventory.
  • Track customer collections and vendor payments.
  • Support cash-flow analysis and short-term financial planning.
  • 7. Process Improvement & Automation
  • Identify opportunities to improve MIS reporting processes.
  • Automate repetitive reports using Advanced Excel.
  • Develop Excel-based dashboards trackers and analytical models.
  • Improve data accuracy reporting timelines and process efficiency.
  • Support implementation of improved finance reporting systems and controls.
  • 8. Management Support
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial and business analysis as required by management.
  • Support senior finance leadership in decision-making through data-driven analysis.
  • Prepare presentations and management reports for review meetings.
  • Work closely with Accounts Production Sales Procurement and Operations teams to obtain and validate data.
  • Required Skills
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and financial concepts.
  • Excellent Advanced Excel skills - Pivot Tables XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP SUMIFS INDEX-MATCH dashboards and data analysis.
  • Good working knowledge of Tally.
  • Strong MIS reporting and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of costing and variance analysis.
  • Good understanding of financial statements.
  • Strong numerical and problem-solving ability.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Candidates with articleship experience in MIS costing audit manufacturing finance or accounts will be preferred.
  • Manufacturing industry experience is preferred but not mandatory.
