The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing and managing the short-term supply plan (0 4 months horizon) in alignment with the integrated business planning (IBP) framework. The role ensures demand-supply balance optimizes production and inventory and serves as the critical link between operational scheduling and mid/long-term supply planning.
This position plays a key role in ensuring service level adherence inventory health and efficient utilization of manufacturing and supply chain resources.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Planning & Scheduling
Develop and maintain a weekly detailed supply plan (0 4 months horizon) using IBP or equivalent systems.
Review and refine system-generated supply plans to ensure feasibility and alignment with operational constraints.
Act as the bridge between detailed schedulers (short-term) and supply planners (mid/long-term horizon).
Scenario Planning & Risk Management
Evaluate alternate supply scenarios to address constraints related to capacity materials or logistics.
Identify risks gaps and supply disruptions and proactively drive mitigation strategies (e.g. expediting alternate sourcing overtime planning).
Optimize supply plans considering cost capacity utilization and service levels.
Inventory & Performance Management
Monitor and optimize inventory levels including slow-moving and excess inventory.
Close watch on Inventory and its projection for long term visibility
Own supply chain KPIs such as:
Service Level / OTIF
Inventory Projection & DOH
Plan Adherence
Drive continuous improvement through data-driven insights.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Governance
Collaborate closely with Demand Planning Procurement Manufacturing and Logistics teams.
Lead Weekly S&OE (Sales & Operations Execution) and contribute to Monthly Supply Review / S&OP cycles.
Partner with regional/global teams for inter-company and inter-site supply coordination.
Master Data & Systems Management
Ensure accuracy and governance of planning master data (SKUs BOMs lead times etc.).
Manage master data creation and updates via MDG tools and ServiceNow workflows.
Leverage ERP (SAP) and planning tools (IBP/APO) for decision-making and reporting.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
Support supply chain transformation and digital initiatives.
Contribute to process standardization automation and planning excellence programs.
Support new product introduction (NPI) planning and execution
Education & Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering (Chemical/Mechanical/Production) or Supply Chain Management
Certification preferred: APICS CPIM / CSCP / PMP
Experience Requirements
8 10 years of experience in supply chain including:
Supply planning / production scheduling
Cross-functional exposure (manufacturing procurement or logistics)
Experience in multinational or complex supply chain environments
Strong experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced planning tools (IBP preferred)
Industry experience in chemical or process manufacturing is preferred
