Job Summary

Catalogue and standardise industrial item-master data to our published taxonomy and cataloguing SOP.

You work independently on the bulk of items applying noun-modifier classification populating attribute schemas resolving routine ambiguity using the reference store and delivering clean masters that pass the MDM loader contract. You exercise judgement on day-to-day calls escalate only genuinely hard or conflicting cases to the Lead and feed every reusable resolution back into the knowledge base.

Job Description
  • Classify and standardise industrial spares (mechanical electrical instrumentation) using the noun-modifier taxonomy and attribute schemas working independently not item-by-item supervised.
  • Populate and normalise attributes (size material rating manufacturer part number) per the cataloguing SOP; apply prefix-safe matching rules for OEM part numbers.
  • Resolve routine ambiguity using synonyms cross-references and rules from the reference store; escalate only multi-noun conflicting or unresolvable items to the Lead.
  • Self-QA every batch against the MDM loader contract before handover aim for zero validator blockers; fix your own rejects.
  • Capture new synonyms cross-references and resolutions back into the reference store so repeat items get faster.
  • Meet agreed accuracy and throughput standards; flag systemic data issues (recurring bad source patterns taxonomy gaps) to the Lead rather than silently working around them.
  • Use the LLM-assisted workflow as a first pass then verify and correct you own the output not the tool.
Skills
Candidate Profile
  • 5 years in MRO / industrial / EAM master data MDM or cataloguing roles or strong adjacent experience (spares procurement store/inventory data ERP material master entry).
  • Working knowledge of mechanical electrical and instrumentation spares and common OEM part-number conventions.
  • Hands-on with noun-modifier cataloguing and controlled vocabularies (UNSPSC or equivalent) or demonstrable ability to learn and apply a defined taxonomy quickly.
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills (lookups dedupe text functions); comfortable with data-cleaning tools and AI-assisted classification.
  • Strong attention to detail and the discipline to follow an SOP exactly and to know when a case is outside it and needs escalating.
  • Ability to work independently to a standard and a deadline without close supervision.
