Job Summary:
Deputy Manager – Mechanical Product Development to lead the design and development of next-generation power connector solutions. The incumbent will provide technical and strategic leadership for new product development manage a team of design engineers drive innovation and ensure timely delivery of customer-focused solutions from concept to mass production. This role requires close collaboration with global engineering teams customers suppliers manufacturing quality and program management while ensuring world-class engineering standards quality cost and delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end product development for power connectors cable assemblies and related products.
- Manage and mentor a team of Mechanical Design Engineers providing technical guidance and performance coaching.
- Drive product architecture concept development feasibility studies and design reviews.
- Lead customer technical discussions Voice of Customer (VOC) capture and translate requirements into robust product designs.
- Own DFMEA DFM DFA tolerance stack-up analysis GD&T and design validation activities.
- Review and approve engineering drawings specifications BOMs and engineering change requests.
- Lead verification qualification reliability and environmental testing.
- Ensure compliance with UL IEC EIA and customer-specific standards.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Quality Supply Chain Tooling and Program Management for successful product industrialization.
- Drive design cost optimization value engineering and productivity improvements.
- Support RFQs customer presentations technical proposals and design reviews.
- Lead root cause analysis for product issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Introduce innovative technologies materials and design practices to improve product performance.
- Manage engineering project timelines resource allocation and risk mitigation.
- Build technical capability within the engineering team through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
- Support global product roadmap initiatives and strategic engineering projects.
Qualifications:
- 13–15 years in Mechanical Product Development.
- Minimum 5 years leading engineering teams or technical projects.
- Experience in connector automotive EV charging industrial or electromechanical products is highly preferred.
- Exposure to global customer interactions and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Experience in NPI (New Product Introduction) and product lifecycle management.
- Strong expertise in Creo (Mandatory); SolidWorks knowledge is an added advantage.
- Hands-on experience with ANSYS/FEA simulations.
- Expertise in Plastic Injection Molding Metal Stamping Plating Tooling and Assembly Processes.

- Experience in designing latching mechanisms sealing systems and high-performance connector products.
- Good knowledge of PLM systems (Windchill preferred).
