The primary responsibility of the Procurement Manager role is to coordinate procurement activities and manage supplier relationships in order to reduce costs add value and mitigate supply risk.

Key responsibilities
Safety management
Contribute and influence an environment where Health & Safety (H&S) is an integral part of how we do business.

Ensuring key team members undertake contractor permit to works and associated risk assessments within the operations scope of works are completed before the commencement of works.
Responsible for conducting the incident and injury management processes including reporting and investigation.
Food safety and quality management
Contribute to the development of a food safety culture.
Adhere to processes and procedures and directions in relation to food safety and quality management.
Report any identified food safety risks in a timely manner.
Comply with any role specific food safety and quality management requirements.
Sourcing and procurement
Develop and manage a procurement strategy that aligns with operational business strategy.
Review spend categories and suppliers and engage with the business to identify and support cost saving opportunities and add value through scope optimisation aggregation of volume and consolidation of suppliers.
Identify and support initiatives to reduce costs and waste and eliminate unproductive practices.
Mitigate supply risk and secure supply of business critical goods and services through negotiated agreements and engagement and maintenance of relationships with key suppliers.
Engage with key suppliers in long term partnering to extract business benefits for both parties.
Manage supplier contracts through agreed KPIs and act as escalation point in contract disputes.
Develop and support Continuous Improvement Programs (CIPs) with approved suppliers.
Develop procurement KPIs and regularly seek feedback from key business stakeholders.
Financial management and control
Set annual budget Procurement and ensure expenditure is within budget.
Identify opportunities to reduce costs through procurement activities.
Manage project budgets and report on financial position where required.
Ensure cost savings as a result of initiatives are recorded and can be accurately reported on.
Ensure master data is accurate timely and with integrity across all applicable company systems.
Other
Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing processes documents templates and policies and engage or educate other company employees as appropriate.
Develop and optimise procurement systems and processes.
Ensure compliance with internal company policies procedures and guidelines applicable external laws regulations and industry codes.
Other tasks as required.
Qualifications and licenses
Related tertiary qualification ideally with Law Commerce or Procurement.
Skills and experience required to perform the role
Experience in a procurement role / supporting procurement processes.
Excellent business acumen and negotiation skills
Excellent attention to detail.
Superior numerical and analytical skills
Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills
Superior oral and written communication skills
Sound knowledge of technology to support business and delivery of role
Highly competent in MS Word Excel PowerPoint and Project
