Purpose :

  • Timely completion of designs and requisitioning.
  • Adherence to Dept./Group Working Instruction and QMs Manual.
  • Performance in his area of responsibility.
  • Provision of technical expertise in this function.
  • Assistance to Dept. Head/Discipline Head.
  • Carrying out duties and responsibilities as Lead Engineer when assigned to a project.

The Role

As a Manager I Process Engineer with Worley you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.

Staffing/Human Resources

  • Ensure people produce excellent work and continually improve their skills thus helping the company grow. Evaluate competence of staff for their current roles and assess potential for increased responsibility. Assist in establishing required personnel to maintain the project production/planning schedule for his assigned area of responsibility.

Budget / Planning

  • Review the project plan for acceptability.
  • Ensure all work within the assigned scope of responsibility is completed in accordance with the accepted project plan and within the work-hour budget allocated.

Client Liaison

  • Assist in reviewing the clients documentation for acceptability. Inform Project Manager of any client deviation requests. Meet client expectations and maintain long-term relationships with client. Attend to client feedback and any complaints.

Technical Participation

  • Ensure the timely completion of all project specifications designs drawings and requisitions for areas of responsibility assigned to him.
  • Ensure all documentation within the scope of his responsibility is prepared checked reviewed and approved in accordance with the Discipline Working Instructions for the project.
  • Carry out review of vendors bids and documentation for technical acceptability.
  • Carry out inspection of equipment when requested by Project Manager as per relevant approved documents (like Purchase Orders Final Vendor Drawings etc.) to ensure that equipment manufactured is in line with all approved Technical Specification.
  • Provide technical assistance to other design groups as necessary.

Development

  • Assist Discipline Head in development and implementation of the latest technology and methods to improve efficiency accuracy and productivity.

Function as a Lead Engineer

  • The Lead Engineer is assigned to a project as a key member of the design team and reports to the Project Manager. He is responsible for the proper and timely execution within his discipline of the design and requisitioning in accordance with the control estimate and specific requirements of the project. He is also responsible for ensuring that the Dept./Disciplines quality management system Manual is followed considering any special contractual requirements.

About You

To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:

  • A degree in Chemical Engineering Discipline.
  • Minimum 12-15 years of which a minimum 8 years in Process Department of a consultancy organization or technical service department of a chemical plant. Preferably with following experience:
  • Strong knowledge of steady state and transient analysis for pipeline CW systems etc.
  • Should has strong experience on working with simulation models such as AFT Fathaom and AFT impulse Pipenet TLNET TGNET.
  • Should be conversant with running transient model identifying the issues and find mitigation measures for the same.
