Profile: Maintenance Head

Experience:

• 9-12 years in maintenance within a rubber processing or comparable process plant
• Experience maintaining rubber processing machinery specifically not general engineering equipment (Must Have)

Job Purpose
Own the mechanical utility and equipment health of the plant. Support machine erection and commissioning during setup then deliver maximum machine availability at minimum breakdown. Run maintenance as a planned system with records and schedules not as a response to failure.

Roles:

• Support machine erection and commissioning during plant setup
• Maintain mixers calenders curing presses and belt handling equipment (Must Have)
• Maintain and set the grinding equipment used for belt surface finishing. Hold surface accuracy and thickness tolerance within specification (Must Have)
• Work with PLC-controlled machines CNC equipment and SCADA or data acquisition systems. Coordinate with vendors on controls and instrumentation faults and brief them accurately (Must Have)
• Apply knowledge of drives sensors panels and control circuits to diagnose faults (Must Have)
• Apply strong mechanical fundamentals: alignment bearings gearboxes drives hydraulics and pneumatics (Must Have)
• Know the wear patterns failure modes and maintenance requirements of rubber processing machinery (Must Have)
• Operate and maintain lathe and machining equipment for in-house spares tooling shaft and roller work
• Maintain a critical spares inventory with defined minimum levels so production never stops waiting for a single part
• Conduct periodic physical verification of spares and consumables against records and reconcile differences
• Work with stores on spares indenting receipt verification issue discipline and reorder levels
• Build and run the preventive maintenance schedule machine by machine. Publish schedule adherence every month
• Write maintenance SOPs and checklists for each machine at each frequency: daily weekly monthly and annual
• Own utilities: boilers compressors chillers cooling towers water systems and electrical distribution as applicable
• Build and maintain a maintenance book (machine history) for every machine covering breakdowns causes actions spares consumed and downtime
• Coordinate with production on shutdown windows with stores on spares and with vendors on warranty AMC and service visits
• Train operators on basic machine care safe operation and first-level fault identification on a planned training calendar
• Root-cause repeat breakdowns and close them permanently through CAPA
• Maintain complete maintenance records and prepare the annual maintenance spares and equipment capex plan
• Maintain machine drawings layouts and manuals in an indexed form. Read and mark up CAD drawings
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic mechanical and electrical machines (exposure required)

Qualification:

• BE / in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a rubber industry background
• Engineering degree essential; diploma holders not to be considered
• Professional standard of language and conduct required
