Job Summary

Experience Requirements:
3 years of experience in Linux Server in a large enterprise environment.
Hands on experience with on call support and incident management including involvement in high severity outages.
Special Skills:
Additionally the applicant must have employment experience with:
1. Enterprise Linux Server installation configuration administration and lifecycle management
2. Linux user authentication access controls and privilege management
3. Shell scripting or automation to streamline system administration and operational workflows
4. Incident management processes and use of ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM tools
5. Enterprise monitoring alerting and log analysis tools to support reliability and proactive issue detection
6. Applying security hardening standards and performing vulnerability remediation on Linux platforms
7. Configuration management and automation using Puppet to standardize system configuration reduce configuration drift and support scalable Linux operations
8. Cross team collaboration during outages to restore business critical services
9. Clear and effective communication during high pressure operational events and leadership updates

Key Responsibilities
Install configure and administer enterprise Linux Server environments across on premises and cloud connected platforms.
Manage core Linux operating system services including authentication and authorization services system logging time synchronization package management and network configuration.
Perform routine patching upgrades and vulnerability remediation in accordance with enterprise security and compliance standards.
Ensure Linux platform availability through monitoring performance tuning and capacity planning.
Serve as a technical responder for Priority 1 and Priority 2 infrastructure incidents following the established Critical Incident Management process.
Participate in incident bridges and Teams war rooms providing timely technical updates and contributing to root cause observations.
Open update and manage ServiceNow incidents ensuring accurate prioritization documentation and adherence to service level agreements.
Focus on rapid service restoration during outages and contribute to post incident remediation and continuous improvement activities once stability is restored.
Review system logs alerts and metrics to identify trends failures or capacity constraints.
Develop maintain and support automation using shell scripting Python scheduled jobs or orchestration frameworks to reduce manual operational effort.
Develop maintain and support configuration management using Puppet to enforce standardized builds security baselines and desired state configuration across Linux environments.
Apply Linux security baselines and configuration standards to maintain system integrity.
Support audit and compliance activities through accurate operational documentation and evidence collection.
Collaborate with storage virtualization Windows network security and application teams during incidents and planned changes.
Maintain high quality technical documentation operational procedures and runbooks for supported Linux platforms.
Mentor and support junior administrators and operational partners to improve overall technical capability and service outcomes.
Provide effective solutions to moderate technical challenges by evaluating system behaviour risks and operational impacts.
