Digital within Airbus is a Transnational Organisation mirroring the Industrial landscape. Digital is currently undergoing a major transformation programme focussing on Product and Technology Service teams with an end-to-end (E2E) accountability and full responsibility for the value proposition.
As SAP GTS Solution Architect for S4 Transformation the candidate would be responsible for the end-to-end solution design implementation and governance of the SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) platform. This individual acts as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for all global trade processes within the SAP ecosystem.
This role involves translating complex business requirements for import/export compliance customs management and trade preference into a robust scalable and efficient SAP GTS solution. The architect will lead project teams collaborate with business stakeholders and ensure seamless integration with SAP S/4HANA (or ECC) and other third-party systems.
Qualifications:
Technical & Functional Expertise
Mandatory:
9 years of SAP experience with at least 5-7 years of hands-on experience in SAP GTS.
Proven expertise in configuring and implementing all major SAP GTS Functionalities within the Custom module (Ex. Inbound Outbound Intrastat Reconciliation)
Multiple full life-cycle SAP GTS implementation experiences preferably in a lead architect role.
Deep understanding of the integration points between GTS and SAP S/4HANA (or SAP ECC) SD MM and FICO modules.
Strong knowledge of global trade regulations and compliance processes (e.g. export controls customs valuation rules of origin).
Highly Desirable:
Experience with SAP S/4HANA for International Trade (in addition to standalone GTS).
Knowledge of ABAP development debugging BADI implementations and user exits relevant to GTS.
Experience with integration technologies like SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) IDocs and API management.
Familiarity with customs filing systems (e.g. AES NCTS ATLAS) and special customs procedures (e.g. FTZ IPR OPR).

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Business or a related field
Responsibilities
Solution Design:
Lead the Solution design of all SAP GTS modules including Compliance Management (e.g. Sanctioned Party List screening embargo checks legal control) Customs Management (e.g. import/export declarations customs procedures broker integration) and Preference Management (e.g. free trade agreement handling vendor declarations).
Develop and maintain the solution roadmap for SAP GTS aligning it with business goals and IT strategy.
Create detailed solution blueprints functional specifications and technical design documents.
Implementation & Project Leadership:
Lead and guide technical and functional teams during full-cycle SAP GTS implementations upgrades and rollouts.
Oversee system configuration development (WRICEF) and testing to ensure the solution is delivered to specification.
Manage project scope identify risks and provide expert guidance to resolve complex technical and business challenges.
Integration Management:
Design and manage the integration of SAP GTS with core SAP S/4HANA or ECC systems (specifically SD MM and FI modules).
Architect connections to external parties such as customs authorities (e.g. AES ATLAS) brokers and freight forwarders using tools like EDI B2B or middleware (e.g. SAP CPI).
Stakeholder & Business Collaboration:
Act as the primary liaison between the business (e.g. Legal Compliance Logistics Supply Chain) and the IT team.
Conduct workshops to gather and analyze business requirements translating them into effective system solutions.
Provide expert counsel to the business on global trade best practices and how to leverage SAP GTS functionality to optimize compliance and efficiency.
Governance & Support:
Establish and enforce development standards configuration best practices and governance policies for the SAP GTS platform.
Serve as the highest-level escalation point for complex support issues.
Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
The position will have to drive the design of multiple applications at the same time. Global consistency has to be ensured and a transverse strategy has to be implemented in that way.
