Lead Administrator – VMware VDI (L3)
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Lead Administrator VMware VDI (L3) to manage and optimize enterprise VDI environments. This role focuses on Hyper-V virtualization VDI operations and Active Directory ensuring high availability performance and security of end-user computing platforms.
- Own L3 operations for Hyper-V and VDI platforms
- Troubleshoot complex issues (compute storage network identity) and perform RCA
- Manage Hyper-V clusters (patching live migration failover performance tuning)
- Administer VMware VDI environments (desktop pools images policies)
- Manage Active Directory (GPOs OU design DNS authentication)
- Execute change management (upgrades patching certificates)
- Perform capacity planning and performance optimization
- Automate tasks using PowerShell scripting
- Collaborate with network security and application teams
- Mentor L1/L2 teams and maintain SOPs/KB documentation
- Strong experience in Microsoft Hyper-V (Windows Server 2016/2019/2022)
- Hands-on experience with Hyper-V Clustering (Failover CAU Live Migration)
- Expertise in PowerShell scripting and automation
- Experience with Active Directory (GPO DNS authentication)
- Experience with VMware VDI (desktop pools images troubleshooting)
- Strong understanding of virtual networking storage (SAN/NAS) and performance tuning
- Experience with FSLogix / profile management
- Exposure to Azure / Azure Virtual Desktop
- Knowledge of backup tools (Veeam Commvault Rubrik)
- Experience with monitoring tools (SCOM Splunk vROps)
- Familiarity with ITSM tools (ServiceNow Remedy)
- Certifications: Microsoft / VMware (VCP) / ITIL
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Experience in handling production-critical environments
- Ability to lead mentor and manage stakeholders
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Participation in on-call support and maintenance windows
- Ability to work in shift-based environments (if required)

710 years of experience in VMware Infrastructure / Virtualization Strong expertise in vCenter ESXi HA/DRS clusters VM lifecycle Hands-on experience with VMware Cloud on AWS (VMC) Experience in VMware HCX migrations & workload mobility Knowledge of Windows Server administration Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident Problem Change Management) Experience in monitoring capacity planning and troubleshooting
Required Education:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Information Technology Software Engineering or a related field
