The Security Analyst I position on the Security Operations team monitors triages and responds to security alerts across systems and infrastructure. This role is required to work different shifts on a rotational basis contributing to projects focused on the continuous improvement of detection and response capabilities. This role works closely with internal stakeholders to verify activity and mitigate risks requiring practical knowledge of security operations and the ability to work under moderate supervision.

• Independently monitor and triage security alerts escalating as appropriate
• Identify pathways to improve alert accuracy and reduce noise
• Contribute to documentation of processes and procedures
• Research and analyze emerging threats relevant to the organization
• Participate in compliance audit and risk management activities as needed.
  

• 2 years of experience in IT security or a related field
• Practical experience with security monitoring and response using tools such as SIEM EDR IDS
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Sound understanding of network endpoint and cloud security concepts
• Experience working with cloud providers such as AWS Azure or GCP
• Attention to detail strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  

• Bachelors degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience
• Experience using automation tooling
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to evolving threats and technologies.
  

This position entails strict adherence to all applicable privacy and security standards and regulations. Responsibilities include the protection of information upholding confidentiality and conducting all activities in alignment with Mimecasts policies. Completion of relevant role-based security and privacy training is a requisite for this role.
