Were seeking someone to join our team as a Vice President to execute lead manage activities and people within the Non-Market Risk Mumbai team integrate new processes strengthen existing ones standardize processes and deliver greater automation

Institutional Equity (IED): In the Institutional Equity division we provide our clients around the world with intellectual insights and innovative product solutions and services that help them generate alpha.

Mumbai IED is the offshoring arm of Morgan Stanleys Sales & Trading businesses in India. It covers functions across IED ranging from those associated with sales trading analytics strats to risk management.

What youll do in the role:

• Act as a primary liaison in shortterm or longterm engagements supporting seamless knowledge transfer stakeholder alignment and process stabilization.
• Enhance existing control frameworks and design new ones where gaps exist.
• Review and monitor internal policy and procedural breaches assess risk investigate identify solutions educate and escalate as necessary.
• Solve crossfunctional problems by working effectively within and beyond the Risk Management department. Get involved in regional risk projects and enhancements.
• Assist in migrating onshore activities to local team. Overseeopen issues and drive timely corrective measures by responsible parties.
• Produce management reports to highlight risk issues trends thematic matters new regulatory changes amongst others.
• Build strong partnerships and work with regional and global IED Risk Management Central Risk Technology Operations Finance and Compliance.
• Manage people in terms of performance feedback and appropriate work allocation.

What youll bring to the role :

• Masters in Business Management or Engineering graduates from Tier 1 / Tier 2 institutions.
• Chartered Accountant / CFA / FRM.
• Professional with 9 years of relevant VP-level experience in Risk Management Compliance or Trading Support/Operations focusing on Sales & Trading activities. Should be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of Risk Management and Controls.
• Should be able to demonstrate at least 2 years of team management experience in terms of giving performance feedback work allocation and expectations management.
• Experience with deepdive investigations (such as risk fraud compliance AML operational deficiencies) rootcause analysis and evidencebased findings.
• Knowledge of Equities markets understanding of applicable regulatory rules and regulations.
• An understanding of and strong focus on the mechanics of a control environment including escalation and risk-related issues.
• Strong stakeholder management. Should manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate risk issues clearly to Senior management Salespersons and Traders.
• Proficiency in Advanced Excel / VBA Macros / Python / Power BI / similar AI tools.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask between various ad-hoc queries projects and daily business activities.
• Demonstrates exceptional analytical and reasoning skills adaptable to both independent and team environments.
• Strong project management skills including managing competing priorities influencing senior stakeholders and delivering sustainable outcomes across functions and regions.
• Ability to identify and escalate issues effectively and appropriately.
• Exceptional organizational skills and high degree of attention to detail.
• Proven ability to take ideas forward and to challenge others with integrity and maturity.
• Preferred: Meaningful onsite / onshore / international experience partnering with Front Office Risk Finance Technology and Compliance leadership with the credibility to operate as a trusted advisor in highvisibility forums.
