HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) infrastructure is at the heart of the global energy transition and the civil works that support converter stations cable systems and associated infrastructure are what make it all possible. As HVDC Civil Works Interface Manager you are the connective tissue between civil engineering electrical and mechanical packages OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) suppliers EPC (Engineering Procurement & Construction) contractors and the broader project team. Your work ensures that design decisions made across disciplines translate into coherent buildable outcomes delivered safely on schedule and within budget.
This is a senior role suited to someone with deep multidisciplinary coordination experience who thrives in the complexity of large-scale multi-contractor infrastructure delivery.

Job Description

What Youll Do

  • Own the interface register define track and drive closure of all civil-to-package interfaces across converter stations GIS/AIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear / Air Insulated Switchgear) substations HV (High Voltage) equipment layouts cable routing landfall points buildings foundations drainage and site development.

  • Coordinate engineering inputs and outputs review civil deliverables for alignment with HVDC equipment requirements verify vendor loads dimensional constraints installation tolerances and maintenance access needs and support resolution of interdisciplinary design conflicts.

  • Support construction readiness contribute to constructability reviews site sequencing plans and coordination with construction managers on access temporary works logistics and work-front availability; monitor interface risks that could affect field execution schedule or quality.

  • Manage schedule risk and change identify interface dependencies and constraints support integrated schedule development for civil and E&M (Electrical & Mechanical) activities evaluate change impacts across packages and escalate critical issues affecting cost schedule safety or quality.

  • Serve as the interface focal point act as the primary coordination point between the customer engineering teams civil contractors OEMs and package suppliers; support management of technical queries deviations and interface agreements and ensure contractual responsibilities at interfaces are clearly understood by all parties.

  • Embed EHS and quality principles promote safe-by-design and constructability thinking throughout the project lifecycle ensure civil interface decisions support EHS (Environment Health & Safety) requirements and support ROC (Readiness of Construction) reviews prior to site mobilization.

Who You Are

You are an experienced project interface professional who brings together technical depth in civil and structural engineering with the coordination skills needed to align complex multi-stakeholder delivery environments. You communicate clearly across disciplines anticipate where interfaces will create friction and act early to resolve them.

Required

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Structural Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent experience in large-scale infrastructure project delivery

  • Significant experience in large infrastructure power transmission substation or HVDC project environments

  • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary interfaces on EPC or major capital projects

  • Strong working knowledge of civil and structural works for substations or converter stations including coordination with electrical and mechanical equipment requirements

  • Familiarity with project controls schedule management and document control processes

  • Experience working with international contractors and multi-package delivery models

  • Familiarity with industry codes standards and quality requirements for utility-scale infrastructure

Preferred

  • Direct experience on HVDC converter station projects

  • Exposure to cable systems landfall design or offshore-to-onshore interface management

  • Experience using interface management tools or document control platforms in a large project environment
