Responsibilities:
Own the architecture and configuration of the payroll ecosystem within Workday
Design and maintain payroll eligibility rules calculations earning and deduction codes pay components and pay component groups across multiple legal entities
Configure and manage garnishments pre-tax/post-tax deductions retroactive pay off-cycle payrolls bonuses and year-end processing
Develop and validate federal state and local tax configurations to ensure ongoing legal and regulatory compliance
Collaborate with functional teams (Benefits Absence Compensation HCM) to ensure seamless integration and accurate payroll execution
Partner with Workday integration developers to support and maintain integrations impacting payroll data flow
Build and validate custom reports using Standard Advanced and Matrix reporting tools
Identify and implement improvements to enhance payroll accuracy automation efficiency and employee experience
Execute payroll inputs and complete payroll EIBs (Employee Information Builds)
Lead configuration testing and deployment into the production Workday tenant
Conduct regression testing for new Workday releases to ensure stability and continuity
Perform regular data audits to uphold data integrity across all payroll modules
Maintain and enhance payroll dashboards to support real-time visibility and decision-making
Support the HCM Manager in developing change management plans and user guides for end users
Test and evaluate emerging AI-driven features such as Workdays Payroll Agent and contribute to innovation initiatives
Requirements
4-8 years of hands-on Workday Payroll configuration experience
Proven experience with U.S. payroll tax regulations and compliance
