Job Description Procurement Head Job Title: Procurement Head Location: Sodepur Kolkata Experience: 1522 Years Industry Preference (Mandatory) Railway Wagon Manufacturing Rail Components Manufacturing Rolling Stock Heavy Engineering Capital Equipment Industrial Manufacturing Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Procurement Head to lead the end-to-end procurement function for a leading railway manufacturing organization. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in strategic sourcing vendor development commercial negotiations procurement planning and supply chain management within the railway heavy engineering or industrial manufacturing sectors. Key Responsibilities Lead the complete procurement function for manufacturing operations. Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives. Source and procure raw materials fabricated parts engineering components and consumables. Plan procurement activities based on production schedules and customer requirements. Identify evaluate develop and manage strategic suppliers. Lead commercial negotiations to achieve cost savings and favorable commercial terms. Ensure uninterrupted material availability to support production schedules. Monitor supplier performance through quality delivery cost and service KPIs. Develop alternate vendors to minimize procurement risks. Collaborate with Production Planning Quality Engineering Stores and Finance teams. Drive annual cost optimization and value engineering initiatives. Ensure compliance with procurement policies contracts and statutory requirements. Analyze commodity pricing market trends and supply risks. Prepare procurement MIS reports dashboards and management presentations. Lead mentor and develop the procurement team to achieve operational excellence. Requirements Strategic Procurement Vendor Development & Vendor Management Strategic Sourcing Commercial Negotiation Procurement Planning Supply Chain Management Cost Optimization Contract Management Inventory Planning Procurement MIS & Reporting Supplier Performance Management ERP/SAP Procurement Module Cross-functional Stakeholder Management Qualifications B.E./ in Mechanical Production Industrial Engineering or a related discipline (Mandatory) MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain Operations Materials Management or Procurement (Preferred) Experience 1522 years of procurement experience in manufacturing. Minimum 5 years in a Procurement Head Senior Procurement Manager or equivalent leadership role. Mandatory experience in Railway Wagon Manufacturing Rolling Stock Heavy Engineering Industrial Equipment or Capital Equipment Manufacturing.
