Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced High-Speed Stamping Process Engineer with 10 years of experience in progressive stamping dies used for precision connector contacts terminals shielding components and other precision metal parts. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on expertise in die debugging tool conditioning process optimization supplier management and transfer of tooling into mass production. Experience in die design and close collaboration with manufacturing teams is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead development tryout validation and industrialization of high-speed progressive stamping dies.
• Conduct DFM die design reviews and provide manufacturability recommendations for sheet metal parts
• Drive successful transfer of new tools from development into production.
• Diagnose and resolve tooling issues during die tryout and production.
• Work with die designers on the optimum strip layout
• Develop tool conditioning plans to maintain die performance.
• Improve tool life productivity and process capability.
• Support production teams in achieving quality yield and OEE targets.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for tooling failures.
• Work closely with external die suppliers for outsourced tooling development qualification acceptance and troubleshooting.
• Review supplier designs tooling standards and validation reports.
• Conduct supplier visits and tooling buy-offs when required.
Education
• Diploma / Advanced Diploma in Tool & Die Making from NTTF GTTC CIPET or equivalent recognized institute.
OR
• Diploma / Certification in Tool Design and Manufacturing with significant hands-on tooling experience.
Experience
• Minimum 10 years of experience in high-speed precision stamping.
• Experience in connector contacts terminals shielding components or precision stamped metal products.
• Proven expertise in die debugging conditioning and production support.
• Experience launching and transferring new tooling into mass production.
• Experience managing outsourced die suppliers is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
• Sheet metal DFM and Stamping process engineering.
• High-speed stamping processes (100–1000 SPM)
• Tool conditioning and preventive maintenance
• Strip layout interpretation
• Die assembly and qualification
• Root-cause analysis
• GD&T interpretation
• Precision metrology
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Creo preferred
• Familiarity with Bruderer YamadaKyori or equivalent high-speed presses
