Role: GCP Solution Architect

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Architect.
Responsibilities of Role:
- Provide the architecture leadership mentoring escalation and resource allocation to the Fraud architecture team
- Accountable for their teams end to end solution architecture strategy and designs; ensuring the creation of strategically aligned cost effective solutions that adhere to platform roadmaps and overall enterprise architecture.
- Has good data architecture capability: conceptual/logical modelling data flows governance and designing for analytics/network analysis.
- Analyse and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance reliability and cost efficiency. Working closely with business and senior technology stakeholders providing architecture direction and input to business strategy
- Help technical team for build and implementing key solutions and business logic.
- Able to manage risk including timely and effective management and escalation of risks and issues
- Ensure relevant architecture governance and standards are met
- Partner with external suppliers to define architecture patterns and integration approaches
- Stay up to date with technology trends and communicate to peers and stakeholders
- Desired to have experience with graph/network analysis platforms or graph databases (where relevant to the vendor product).
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Extensive Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP):
- Strong expertise in GCP services such as Compute Engine Cloud Storage Pub/Sub and Kubernetes Engine (GKE) Cloud SQL Bigdata BigQuery.
- Good understanding of GCP networking including VPC design subnets firewalls and hybrid connectivity (e.g. VPN Interconnect).
- Knowledge of serverless technologies such as Cloud Functions and Cloud Run.
- Cloud Architecture Design:
- Have experience of designing scalable secure and cost-effective cloud architectures.
- Experience in creating high-level and detailed architecture diagrams including multi-region and hybrid cloud setups.
- Proficiency in designing solutions for high availability disaster recovery and fault tolerance.
- Data Engineering and Analytics:
- Strong knowledge of data processing and analytics tools such as BigQuery Dataflow Dataproc and Cloud Composer.
- Experience in designing data pipelines for batch and streaming data processing.
- Familiarity with data modeling ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing concepts.
- Security and Compliance:
- Strong understanding of GCP security best practices including IAM encryption and key management (Cloud KMS).
- Experience in implementing compliance standards such as GDPR HIPAA or PCI DSS on GCP.
- Performance Optimization:
- Ability to optimize cloud resources for cost and performance.
- Experience in monitoring and troubleshooting using tools like Stackdriver (Cloud Monitoring and Logging).
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers data engineers and business stakeholders.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience:
- Lead architect experience on major projects or programmes
- Experience of Retail and commercial Banking (Payments Cards and onboarding). Customer and staff channel is relevant to the role.
- Experience of working in international or global projects preferred
- Experience architecting application solutions with medium to large application integrations involved.
