Furniture Designer blends aesthetics ergonomics and engineering to create functional and visually appealing furniture. They are responsible for the entire product lifecyclefrom initial conceptual sketches and 3D modeling to selecting materials overseeing prototype development and ensuring successful mass or custom ResponsibilitiesConcept & Design: Translate client requirements or market trends into innovative furniture concepts creating mood boards sketches and 3D & Detailing: Prepare precise technical drawings shop drawings and production specifications including joinery and hardware Selection: Research and choose appropriate materials (wood metal plastic upholstery) that balance durability cost and design & Testing: Build and review scale models or physical prototypes testing for functionality safety and -Functional Collaboration: Work closely with carpenters production teams and project managers to ensure design feasibility and manufacturing Planning: Integrate furniture designs with overall interior or architectural & SkillsEducation: Diploma or Bachelors degree in Furniture Design Industrial/Product Design or Interior Proficiency: Strong skills in CAD and 3D rendering tools like AutoCAD SketchUp SolidWorks Rhino 3ds Max and Knowledge: Hands-on understanding of manufacturing processes carpentry joinery techniques and Skills: Excellent spatial awareness attention to detail communication skills and the ability to manage projects within budget

Design & Documentation: Create detailed light plots (CAD drawings) showing fixture placement instrument schedules and cue lists. Technical Planning: Select appropriate lighting tools (fixtures gels dimmers) calculate power requirements and manage equipment rentals and budgets. Installation & Programming: Oversee the installation (hanging/focusing) of lights and program lighting consoles for cues. Rehearsals & Maintenance: Attend rehearsals to adjust lighting; ensure all equipment is safe and fully functional. Communication: Ability to articulate design ideas and work collaboratively with a production team. Project Management: Experience managing tight deadlines budgets and safety regulations. Background: Typically requires a degree in theater lighting design or related experience.
