Job Summary:
CSA Group has an immediate opportunity for a Field Evaluations Representative (f/m/d) to join our Global Field Evaluations Team and to provide services to clients in India.
As a one-time evaluation program CSA Groups field evaluation services help manufacturers get their products into the North American market when certification is not a viable option yet proof of compliance to local requirements is still needed.
These are your duties:
Performs technical evaluations of non-certified equipment at the manufacturing location or in the field to ensure products meet technical requirements and is free of potential for fire and shock hazards.
Communicates with clients in a professional manner to schedule inspection appointments review costing procedures answer questions and provide technical information service and direction based on the scope of the Field Evaluation program. Reviews submitted technical drawings for evaluation.
Documents with sufficient detail technical reports for required alterations to sub-standard equipment. Reviews details of corrective action with client.
Performs inspections on emerging technology and/or complex product types and has the authority to make technical and precedent setting decisions.
Assists in quoting jobs based on technical information and time/travel considerations.
What we expect:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related Sciences with 3 years industry experience; or
Engineering Technology or Associates Degree with 5 years industry related experience; or
Journeyman Electrician with 5 years industry related experience; or related technical field with 7 years industry related experience
Certification / Lab Testing experience preferred.
Working knowledge of laboratory instrumentation as well as general laboratory procedures.
Knowledge of U.S. and Canadian based electrical standards and ability to apply these standards to local installation requirements and/or codes (eg. NEC CEC NFPA 790 & 791 SPE-1000 and SPE-3000)
Knowledge of CE Framework LVD MR and Machinery Safety and related standards
Knowledge of HAZLOC ATEX and IECEx schemes is a plus
Strong interpersonal skills; self-starter; good decision-making skills and organizational skills.
Technically competent to evaluate all products including new and unique products with assistance of other technical staff as necessary
Ability to manage multiple inspection files and changing schedules and deadlines with supervision
Ability to use calibrated measurement instruments high voltage test equipment hand tools
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and test data
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Strong conflict resolution skills to be able to handle difficult situations
Good command in English language skill written and oral.
Ability to travel as needed and/or with short notice (up to 75% travel)
